Chapter Directors’ Message
Dianne and Steve Lilley
Summer has finally arrived but you couldn’t tell it by the weather. Right now it’s wet and cold we had to turn the heat on this morning (June 28th). Hope this isn’t what the riding season will
be like.
A reminder about the 20th Anniversary celebration on August 8th: We have to know by July 20th
if you are coming. After that a place will not be reserved for you. Please, whether you are a
Chapter “S” member or not, let Dianne know if you will attend:
[email protected] or 519-762-3317
As of June 30th Michigan Chrome will be closing. We would like to take this opportunity to thank
Beth and Staff for the years of friendship and service that they have provided us over the last
several years. Wishing them well in their future endeavors. They will be greatly missed.
We are in the home stretch for cleaning out Steve’s father’s house. While doing so many
thoughts go through our minds. All the years of accumulation of “stuff” doesn’t mean a hill of
beans when you start to throw it out. Sometimes we have to do that in our day to day living as
well. You have to learn to not sweat the small stuff. There are far greater things to worry about.
Is anyone interested in doing a skit or some other talent for Rendezvous? Please let me know
any time soon.
That’s it for now. We’ll see you at the breakfast gathering on July 11th.

We would like to add our best wishes to Beth at Michigan Chrome. Here’s an excerpt from her
last message to Chapter “S”:
First, a big thank you for all of the well wishes we’ve received this month
regarding retirement.
Secondly, thanks to all the folks who came in to help empty our shelves.
After June 30, our doors will be closed and the new tenants will be moving in.

Thanks!

August/September - Chapter “S” Social Events
Thanks for the many people who came out for a campfire in our back yard in June. A
few hot dogs were roasted and a couple of smores were made. The weather could not
have been more perfect. We were just relaxing and enjoying the company!!! What is
better than that?
Aug 1st Looking for an idea; either go to the Mustang Drive In or have a ride out to
the Ipperwash Beach for a picnic and a swim. Not sure who is around as it is the long
weekend. The weekend before is Rendezvous, so I am just winging it this month!!
Aug 22nd In Aug we are going to a Play at the Huron County Playhouse to see
Legends, followed by dinner at the Grog, in Port Franks. Please let me know ASAP if
you are planning to attend. Payment will be due at the July meeting.
If we get 20 it is cheaper. Please see flyer.
So far we have; Tim and Geraldine, Ken and Janice, Diane and Steve Lilley
Sept 4th For anyone attending Wing Ding in Huntsville, Alabama, we will be joining
the group from Belleville for dinner, restaurant to be confirmed soon. If interested
please let me know. I will email those wishing to attend the info for this event.
Sept 12th Cindy and Mike will be hosting a potluck BBQ and an outdoor movie night
at their home in St. Thomas. Hopefully we will be able to do a short ride before. More
info will be out in the next newsletter.
I am looking for ideas from anyone for Social Events. If you have any suggestions,
please forward to me at [email protected]. Phone 519-668-1746 (home
number).
Thanks, Geraldine and Tim

*********************************************************
We had to cancel the Road Captains course last Saturday for 2 reasons: 1) the weather
and 2) no one signed up to participate. We still will be putting on this course as we did
have 2 members that wanted to participate but were on vacation. Once we have a date,
we will let you know.
Our ice cream ride June 17 was a great turnout. We had 11 bikes and 19 members and a
Goldwing trike that came into the parking lot wondering what all the Goldwings were doing. This
couple joined us on our ride. Hope to see them out to one of our breakfasts. We had great
weather and a good ride.
Thank to all who came. Our next ice cream ride is Wednesday July 15th leaving the parking lot
at the old ice house (Wellington & 401) at 7:00PM sharp.
Going to Rendezvous – try Top Gun
Rider Ed will be putting on a Top Gun Competition on Saturday Morning from 8:30 – 10:30.
Come out and try your skills and have some FUN.
