How to use
Route Scheduling is performed in an interactive cockpit, known
as ORTEC Planboard for the transportation planner, and is based
on predefined parameters in the planning profile or manually by
the user. The user can calculate the complete volume of orders
and vehicles or a subset. Options exist to adapt tours manually
in a map, Gantt chart, or by dragging and dropping when dealing
with exceptional handling. Tours are then released to SAP
shipments in total, or as a subset for further processing.

Transparency in route planning
ORTEC Cross-Docking for SAP ERP
The SAP standard distribution transportation process means loading materials at a plant or warehouse,
and then delivering them to the customers’ location.
In some cases, order size structure and distribution network means it may be more cost efficient to ship
goods via a third location, known as cross-docking. Goods from one plant are delivered to the crossdocking location in one tour (shuttle), and are regrouped with goods from other plants into multiple new
tours from the cross-docking location to the customer locations (distribution). ORTEC for SAP supports
a 2-stage transportation planning process for outbound distribution processes, with an optional module
