NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF LYON- ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS

Notice is hereby given that the Charter Township of Lyon Zoning Board of Appeals will hold
a Public Hearing at the Township Hall at 58000 Grand River, New Hudson, MI 48165. All
interested parties ~ welcome to attend and present their comments at the meeting.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
1. BRIVAR Construction Company, 7258 Kensington Road, Brighton, MI 48116. Sidwell
#21-11-226-003. Property 1'1Cated at 53410 Grand River Avenue. Applicant requests the
following variances:
• A variance fro~ Section 14.02-B-1 ofthe Zoning Ordinance, which requires that loading
· areas to be located in the rear of the building served. Applicant proposes that the
loading area be loca~d in the front of the. building. ·
• A variance from Section 36.02 of the Zoning Ordinance (Schedule of Regulations),
which requires a rear yard setback of 40' in the I-1 District. A 20' rear yard setback is
proposed. Therefore, a 20' variance is being requested.
2. Hirata Corporation, 30165 South Hill Road, New Hudson, MI 48165. Sidwell #21-03-426006. Applicant reqtrests the following variances:

• A variance from Section· 16;08-C-2; which states the maximum allowed size of a wall
sign is 48 square feet. To allow for a sign measuring 84 square feet, a variance of 36
square feet is being requested.

• A variance from Section 16.08-C-6-a, which states that the top of a wall sign shall not
exceed the maXimum height specified for the district in which.·the sign is located. The
maxim\un height in the I-2 District, as listed in Section 36.02 of the Zoning Ordinance
(Schedule of Regulations) is 45'. Therefore, a variance of 15' is being requested.

PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A' SPECIAL LAND USE APPLICATION
Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended (the
Michigan Zoning Enabliii.g Act), notice is hereby gh;eri that the
Lyon Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at
•7:00p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, . for the purpose of considering
a proposed special land use a.Pplicatioil. The public hearing will
be held at the Lyon Township Hall, 58000 Grand River Ave., New
Hudson, MI 48165;

The purpose of the public hearing is tQ cons~der a special limd use
application submitted by Jim.rhy John's restaurant, which calls for
·a drive-through window. Drive-through restaurants ate permitted
in the B-2,'Community :Susiriess District, subject to special land use
approval. The restaurant is proposed in the Lyon Oaks shopping
center, which is located at the northwest corner ofMilford Road. and
Lyon Center Drive West.
