Community Groups Connect Announcements April 19, 2015 God created us to live in relationship with one another and to be a part of something bigger than ourselves. We hope our community is a place where Jesus is experienced so that both our own lives and our city are changed. Hope for LA Fair Today. Stop by the fair after our services today to meet Hope for LA volunteers and learn how you can take the next step in serving our city. Community Groups are groups of people who gather in homes and offices around Los Angeles to know and care for one another, pray, study the Bible, and serve our neighbors by promoting justice in our city. These groups are not only one of the best ways to meet people at Pacific Crossroads – they are one of the best ways to experience everything we talk, pray, and sing about on Sundays. Exploring Jesus Dinners Start This Week. Bring friends who are not Christians and are exploring faith to our six-week dinner discussion series. Visit PacificCrossroads.org/ExploringJesus to sign up for a group near you. If you’d like coaching or tips on how to invest in and invite others, email Erin McCabe at [email protected]. To learn more and find a group that is right for you, visit PacificCrossroads.org/Community. If you have questions, please email [email protected] or call 310.551.0081. Esther International has a three-fold focus: theological training for Farsispeaking pastors and lay leaders, local outreach to Iranians, and equipping Christians to reach out to our Muslim neighbors. Please pray for Ramesh as this ministry continues to grow in Los Angeles and abroad. Pray also for Ramesh as she brings this ministry to Houston, Texas. Prayer This week, please pray for the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission. This mission is a Hope for LA partner that provides year-round emergency shelter to homeless families in the valley. Last year, their housing facility caught fire and was lost. This June, they will be opening a new facility called Home Again. Please pray that the work will be completed on time so that the families will be able to move into their new home. Also pray for the mission as they increase in residents (from thirty to ninety)! Give thanks to God for this new facility and for a smooth transition for all the families. Pre-Service Prayer. Join us as we pray for our church on Sundays. The prayer times are 8:30-8:50 am in room H201 in the History Building at Samohi, and 4:30-4:50 pm in the Vestry (behind the Gold Chapel) at St. John’s Cathedral.
