Juliet Olivares-Santos, a chemical
engineer, pursued the vision of Mr.
Olivares by constructing a modern
school building and upgrading the Our
Lady of Fatima Hospital to a five-storey
and 150-bed tertiary hospital in
preparation for the opening of the
Fatima College of Medicine. In June
1979, the Fatima College of Medicine
welcomed its pioneer batch of medical
students with Dean Filemon T. Gozum,
M.D. at the helm of the academic program. In its almost more than 40
years of existence, Fatima has graduated more than 30,000 medical and
allied medical health practitioners from all disciplines.

Bangladesh Medical College (BMC) is
the first private medical college in
Bangladesh affiliated under Dhaka
University. It was established in 1986 by
a group of dedicated people called the
founder members who were imbued
with the ideas of providing quality

It was a dream of the Founder to
establish a women's medical
college in the Hospital complex.
With a view to fulfill the dream and
to uplift the medical education
among the women. KWMC was
established in 2001. Initially, in
2001, it only had permission to
admit 50 students per batch. It,
now, enrolls 100 students per batch
and in total there are 552 students
currently studying in the
institution. From the very beginning it was a full residential college with
all the modern facilities. A number of foreign students, approximately
80, from India's Kasmir and West Bengal and Nepal are now studying in
the Medical College. KWMC has produced a total number of 255
