It was very informative and helpful. These kinds of activities can lead to better relations and will help the livability of the area. Paul Wild MCHH This first-ever meeting was organized by Venture Portland, Assistant Chief Day and the Office of Neighborhood Involvement and helped strengthen relationships between neighborhood businesses and the Portland Police Bureau. Assistant Chief Day spoke about PPB’s role in protecting neighborhood businesses and business district leaders asked questions and voiced concerns about crime-related issues in their districts. Topics discussed include transient camping, aggressive panhandling, drug dealing/consumption and effective ways for businesses to communicate and partner with officers in their districts. Commanders from the Central, East and North precincts along with Neighborhood Crime Prevention Coordinators then met with attendees to further discuss business district specific issues and shared resources for neighborhood businesses.
