STANDARDIZED SAFETY QUESTIONNAIRE (SSQ)
WHAT IS THE STANDARDIZED SAFETY QUESTIONNAIRE?
• The SSQ is an acronym for Standardized Safety Questionnaire and is a system designed for ranking,
managing, and evaluating a contractor’s safety. As a contractor this tool is free of charge to you. If your
Operator requires document uploads or Advanced Training Tracker, you must purchase the Verificaton
Package to utilize these additional features.
GETTING STARTED
• Request your temporary SSQ password.
• Using Internet Explorer go to www.pecsafety.com.
PEC system is only accessible through Internet Explorer at this time.
• Click on SSQ Login and Password (upper right hand corner).
To request a User Name and Password, click on “Request Account”.
The Password you receive is only temporary. You will be prompted to create your own permanent
Password when you first log in.
• Please be patient to receive your User Name and temporary Password as your company’s information is
verified.

LOGGING IN TO YOUR SSQ FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Using Internet Explorer go to www.pecsafety.com.
PEC system is only accessible through Internet Explorer.
• Click on SSQ then on SSQ-Login.
• Type the User Name and Password you were sent into the appropriate fields and click Login.
• You will immediately be prompted to create your own permanent Password.
• The Password you created must contain a symbol (!@#$%^&), lower and uppercase letter, and a number
(Ex: JaneDoe@24 or John$Doe15).
The system will prompt you if your password is too weak.
• Once you have created your permanent Password, complete the User Profile section and click Save.
• Click Home at the top right of your screen to return to your Homepage.
ENTERING DATA AND UPDATING YOUR SSQ

After logging into your SSQ, click Edit Questionnaire on your Homepage.
Begin filling in each question, click Save after completing each section.
To navigate through your SSQ, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Drop Down List.
New accounts will initially have only two sections: Services and Information Release. Once these sections are
completed the remaining sections will become available in the drop down list.
• Anytime a section is incomplete or needs to be updated it will be highlighted in blue in the drop down list.
• Please remember Operators require current and complete data at all times. An incomplete SSQ may prevent
consideration of your company for use by Member Operators.
RELEASING YOUR SSQ FOR OPERATOR REVIEW
• After logging into your SSQ, click Edit Questionnaire on your Homepage.
• Scroll to the bottom of the page, open the drop down list and click on Information Release.
• From the Available Operators List, click on the Operator you wish to release your SSQ to (you may release
to multiple Operators).
• Once they are highlighted, click the arrow button to move that Operator into the Pending Release box.
• If at any time you wish to un-release your SSQ to an Operator, simply perform this exercise in reverse.
STANDARDIZED SAFETY QUESTIONNAIRE (SSQ)
DOCUMENT UPLOADS
• Only subscribers to the Verification Package have access to the document uploading features. An exception
to this would be the OSHA and EMR document uploads in the General Safety Incident Statistics section and
the EMR Statistics section which are available to all contractors.
• Document Upload options are attached to some questions in the following sections:
Training Questions Section
General Safety Incident Statistics Section
Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Section
Safety Meetings, JSA, and Mechanical Integrity Section
Management of Change (MOC) Section
Offshore SEMS Section
Some Operator Specific Sections
• If you are uncertain whether or not this is required for the PEC Member Operator(s) you work for, please
review the Operators’ notification letter(s) at www.pecsafety.com/operator-requirements or contact the PEC
Contractor Support Representative (CSR) Department at 866.647.2338.
• Once you click on the link to upload the document, click “Add” button to find the file saved on your computer.
• When all documents have been selected click “Upload”.
• Your documents are now uploaded to our system and archived for 6 years.
• If you delete a document by mistake you can click the box in the top right corner “Include Archived Items” and
this will show you the document you deleted.
COMPLETING AND CERTIFYING YOUR SSQ
• After logging into your SSQ, click Edit Questionnaire on your Homepage.
• Make sure all sections of your SSQ are complete, return to the drop down list and click on Completion
Certification.
• If any section of your SSQ is still incomplete you will be notified in this section.
• Once all sections are complete, check the box to certify your SSQ information.
• It is important to remember to check the Completion Certification every time you change or update
your SSQ.

WHAT IS THE VERIFICATION PACKAGE?
• The Verificaiton Package combines two of the most important aspects of reporting safety and training data
into one package that makes it easy for your company to maintain compliance.
• Included within this bundle is PEC’s Advanced Training Tracker system as well as the ability to Upload and
Archive safety documents in both the SSQ and Training Tracker.
WHAT BENEFITS ARE INCLUDED IN THE VERIFIATION PACKAGE?
• File Uploading: Easily upload any required
documentation such as training records and certificates,
EHS manual, JSA’s, safety meetings, MSA’s, insurance
certificates, as well as any other required documents.
• File Storage & Archiving: Documents and records
are stored and archived for up to six years. This gives
you and your customer peace of mind that important
documents will always be safe and available.
• Advanced Training Tracker: Track all employee
training, including 3rd party training. All PEC Safety
training is automatically added to your company’s
Training Tracker for convenience. You have the ability
to build training matrices and classify your employees
based on job, location, business unit, department, etc.
• Badging: Within Advanced Training Tracker you
can create customized employee IDs with picture,
scannable bar code, and training completed listed on
badge. (card printer required)
• OSHA and EMR Verification: Your company’s OSHA
logs and EMR documentation are verified so you and
your customers can feel confident about the information
entered into your company’s Standardized Safety
Questionnaire (SSQ).
• Citation Verification: Your company’s violation/
inspection section will be verified through
Governmental sites, any violations reported are the
violations received.
• Insurance Certificate Verification: Your company will
receive unlimited insurance verifications for all PEC
Safety member operators. Rest assured in knowing
that your insurance is current and meeting all required
limits.
• Safety Meetings: Receive a monthly safety meeting
to satisfy operator requirements. Each month you
will receive a presentation, quiz, answer key and a
certificate of completion to distribute to your employees.
You gain access to the Safety Meeting Archive that
houses 36 past months of safety meetings.
• Advertising Assistance: Advertise your company logo
along with your company’s description on the PEC
Safety website and your SSQ homepage. All viewable
by your present Operators and future ones. Stand out
against the competition!

CONTRACTOR SERVICES
WHAT IS THE COST OF THE VERIFICATIN PACKAGE?
• The annual cost of the Verification Package is based on your current employee count recorded in your
General Safety Incident Statistics section of your SSQ.
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THE VERIFICATION PACKAGE?
• Option 1
Go to www.pecsafety.com/verification-package/
Click “Buy Now” in the row appropriate for your company’s current employee count
Enter security code then click “Continue”
Enter appropriate information then submit
Your benefits will be turned on within 24 hours
• Option 2
To purchase the Verification Package call 985.327.1331 to purchase over the phone.
The Industry Sales Department will then take your credit card information or you can request an invoice
to be mailed or emailed to you.
Once the Industry Sales Department receives your payment your benefits will be turned on immediately.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SUBMIT PAYMENT?
• Once payment is processed, your Verificaiton Package will be turned on. At that point, you will have the
ability to upload Operator required documents in the SSQ and Advanced Training Tracker as well as enter
training records into your Advanced Training Tracker.

INTRODUCTION
• This will cover ensuring all of your employees are within the system, creating in-house training classes, and
assigning training to your employees.
ARE YOUR EMPLOYEES IN THE SYSTEM?
• Though our database does not have a back button, you can always click the “Advanced Training Tracker
Tools” link in the upper right corner of the database window.
• This will bring you back to the main Advanced Training Tracker menu.
YOUR EMPLOYEES
• Here you can search for a specific employee or leave the fields blank and view all of your employees when
selecting search. If your employees have PEC training, the employee and their training will automatically be
entered into our database.
TRAINING TRACKER
MISSING EMPLOYEE?
• If an employee is missing from this list, don’t worry, you can search our entire database for the employee,
create a profile for them, and /or transfer their training records to your company.
• In the search field, uncheck the Limit to Active Employees box.
• Now the Add New Employee option is available. Select that.
MISSING EMPLOYEE? (CONTINUED)
• This gives you an option to search the entire PEC Training Database for your employee.
• Enter the employees first and last name and search. If you can match your employee based off of the SSN,
Birthdate, or Picture, Click the Trainee ID next to the employee. You will be asked if you want to add this
employee to your list, select ok.
• If you don’t see your employee,select the following option where you can create the employee profile.
EMPLOYEE PROFILE
• If an employee leaves your company and you need to make that employee Inactive, click the circle to Inactive
Employee and click on Save Employee data.
• The top section will change to brown and remove the Employee from your Active list.

MAINTAIN COURSE SELECTION POOL
• Go back to the Advanced Training Tracker Tools Homepage and select Maintain course selection Pool from
the list.

• Here you will see a list of courses. This section will act like a course catalog for your company and will already
include PEC Training.
• To create In-house courses or third party (non PEC) courses, select the “Add Employer Specific Courses to
Selection Pool”.
• Then simply add the name of your course.
TRAINING TRACKER
ASSIGN TRAINING TO YOUR EMPLOYEES
• There are two ways to assign training courses to your employees. You can manually add one course at a time
to an individual employee, or you can create a roster and add courses to multiple employees.
ADD COURSE CREDITS
• Select an employee and scroll to the bottom of their course credits, then select “Add Course Credits.” Find the
desired course and click Edit. A field will open where you can enter the course date. Click add and the course
will be credited to your employee.

ENTER TRAINING VIA ROSTER
• To credit multiple employees with the same training class, you can create a training roster. Select “Maintain
Training Rosters” from the Advanced Training Tracker menu.
• Now, select “Create a New Training Roster” and enter the course date.
SETTING UP THE ROSTER
• Once you choose the course more fields will populate. To choose which employees are in the course, there
are two blue links at the bottom to choose from.
• Add your employees and complete the course and training will show up.
• After selecting your employees for the roster, you will need to click “Edit” after the participants names to verify
that they have passed the course(s). Then mark the roster as complete and save.
• The course(s) will now be credited to your employees.
SAFEGULF AND SAFELANDUSA
WHAT IS SAFEGULF?
• SafeGulf is a standardized orientation which sets minimum requirements for the U.S. Offshore E&P Industry.
Its purpose is to replace multiple operator orientations and have a single orientation accepted by all offshore
operators. To date, over 150,000 personnel in the US Offshore E&P Industry have successfully completed the
SafeGulf Orientation.
WHAT IS SAFELANDUSA?
• SafeLandUSA is a standardized orientation which sets minimum requirements for the U.S. Onshore E&P
Industry. Its purpose is to replace multiple operator orientations and have a single orientation accepted by
all onshore operators. To date, over 165,000 personnel in the US Onshore E&P Industry have successfully
completed the SafeLandUSA Orientation.
HOW CAN I GET SAFEGULF OR SAFELANDUSA?
• PEC offers two courses that are accredited by both SafeGulf and SafeLandUSA. This means you can acquire
SafeGulf and SafeLandUSA at the same time by taking either course.
PEC Basic Orientation-8 hours
A one-day program that meets API RP 75 & API RP T-1 requirements and provides a basic
understanding at an awareness level of certain general safety information. Upon successful
completion of the course, each student is issued a picture ID with a unique barcode. The student
information is then stored in an online database.
PEC Core Compliance-24 hours
A three-day program that certifies you in training levels beyond awareness level and brings together
the health, safety and environmental training certifications (OSHA and BOEMRE) most requested by
oilfield operators and other host employers. Core Compliance also has a yearly refresher to keep
all certifications current. Upon successful completion of the course, each student is issued a picture
ID with a unique barcode. The student information is then stored in an online database.
WHERE CAN I FIND A CERTIFIED PEC INSTRUCTOR?
• PEC provides a training provider map of all certified PEC Instructors on our website: www.pecsafety.com/
map. Simply click on the state you need training in and you will be provided with a list of instructors in your
state.

CAN I HAVE AN INSTRUCTOR SENT TO MY FACILITY TO TRAIN MY EMPLOYEES?
• Yes, PEC can arrange an instructor to be sent to your facility. Simply call the Training Department at
1.800.892.8179 and they will schedule a training class for you.
CAN I TRAIN MY OWN EMPLOYEES OR HAVE MY TRAINER CERTIFIED TO TEACH
PEC PROGRAMS?
• Yes, PEC provides a Train-the-Trainer in both Basic Orientation and Core Compliance. For additional
information on becoming certified instructor, please visit our website at: www.pecsafety.com/become-ainstructor/ or call the Training Department at 1.800.892.8179.
• All successful students are issued a PEC card with picture, barcode, company, and training history.
