Courses That Set the Course for Your Future
The hands-on learning and in-depth knowledge you’ll receive in the CIA’s bachelor of professional studies (BPS) degree program in culinary arts will raise the
bar on your career possibilities.
You’ll practice cooking and baking techniques, explore world cuisines and ingredients, and build your command of critical skills in areas such as global food,
cultures and languages, menu development, nutrition, and cost control. You’ll
work in the CIA Singapore’s amazing teaching kitchens, with people who are

education in the student-staffed Top Table Restaurant, your capstone learning
experience that integrates your culinary and management studies in preparation for graduation.

Polytechnic, world-renowned faculty from the campuses of the CIA,

than 140,000 volumes of texts and e-resources in the Temasek library,

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The Experience Requirement
The CIA requires that you have about six months of hands-on food
preparation experience in a professional kitchen or bakery working
with fresh ingredients, for at least 10–15 hours a week. Please note
that you do not need this experience to apply for admission—the
requirement must be met before you enter the CIA.
The experience requirement is designed to help you understand the
realities of working in the food industry before you enroll. Foodservice
and hospitality is a rewarding and challenging profession, and we
want to make sure you are confident in your career choice.
