VOLUME 3 - EDITION 13 27 May 2015 Knowledge & Insight Equality & Compassion Integration & Wholeness Confidence, Competence & Responsibility Self-worth INTER-SCHOOL SPORTS ACC ‘FINAL’ CROSS COUNTRY SQUAD INFORMATION This week sees the culmination of the Cross Country season with the ACC Carnival being held at Perry Lakes and Alderbury Reserve on Tomorrow. Our squad has have been selected on the basis of at training ,attitude, improvement and performances at the SSWA Carnival and Inter-House Carnivals. We aim to be highly competitive across all age groups and are aiming to maintain our position amongst the Top 3 Schools and perhaps contend for the Victory!!! It has been pleasing to see the regular and committed approach to training by our Junior student athletes along with our Senior student athletes accommodate the logistical difficulties of examinations and excursions clashes when selecting the best possible Squad for the ACC Carnival. I would like to thank Mrs. Pedley, Mrs. Harriman, Mrs. Howell and Mrs. Campbell who have assisted at Squad training every week serving breakfast to the Squad to allow staff to focus their attentions upon the students. My thanks also go to Mrs. Steinbach and Mr. McCorkindale who will assist as parental volunteers on the day. Paul Heywood who is the Head Coach of Joondalup Track Club also trains a number of our students who attained State selection. If you have any interest in joining the Club, please contact me. SENIOR WINTER CAS SPORT – RESULTS Last week against Irene McCormack the Senior Teams played well. The Senior Boys Soccer Team displayed a dominant performance with the ‘Mercy Rule’ being evoked at half time. YEAR 7 & JUNIOR WINTER CAS SPORT RESULTS The Year 7 boys Basketball Team continue to be unbeaten in a dominant win that resulted in the ‘Mercy Rule’ being applied at half time. Both Dane Lines and Ethan Mellor scored 23 points each. NEXT SENIOR CAS FIXTURES ARE IN WEEK 9 VS. ST. STEPHEN’S DUNCRAIG DUE TO FORTHCOMING SENIOR EXAMINATIONS & ACC CROSS COUNTRY The Year 7A Girls Netball Team fought very well , but narrowly lost in low scoring game with a number of players unfortunately out with injury. The 7B Netball Team won with Mia Wilkinson shooting well. The Year 8A Netball Team won comfortably with a revised score line due to the ‘Mercy Rule’ being applied and the 9A Netball Team also won to remain unbeaten. . Both the Year 7 and Junior Boys Australian Football Teams were unable to win last week with both teams missing a few players.
