Last week saw the culmination of the Cross Country season with the ACC Carnival being held at Perry Lakes and
Alderbury Reserve on Thursday 28th May. Congratulations to all students who competed! Their spirit, camaraderie,
resilience, effort and performance cannot be faulted. We can confidently say that our ACC Squad values of
‘Hardwork, Dedication & Ambition’ were exhibited once again by all students. I am truly proud of all members of
the Squad. Most students, if not all, attained personal bests. Our overall result placed us 2nd overall out of 57
competing Schools which is our best School result to date, improving upon last years excellent 3 rd overall placing.
We finished second to Sacred Heart College, finishing ahead of a number of excellent and highly competitive
Schools.

Without parental support, student commitment and teacher guidance these successful results are not possible. I would
like to thank Mrs. Pedley, Mrs. Harriman, Mrs. Howell and Mrs. Campbell who assisted at Squad training every week by
serving breakfast to the Squad to allow staff to focus their attentions upon the students. My thanks also go to
Mrs. Steinbach and Mr. McCorkindale who assisted as parental volunteers at the ACC Carnival. Paul Heywood who is
the Head Coach of Joondalup Track Club also trains a number of our students who performed well. If you have any
interest in joining the Club, please contact me.
We now very much look forward to the commencement of preparations towards the ‘A’ Division ACC Athletics Carnival
