Garden Plot Rental Contract
We are excited to roll-out a new garden plot rental program to our customers. We now offer a beginner and
advanced rental. Cost will include 1 pre-tilled plot, approximately 200 square feet (10' x 20'). Subscriptions are
on a first come first serve basis. We will not hold plots without payment. There are a very limited number of
plots so act quickly if you are interested.

Beginner: $120.00
If you are a first time gardener at Petersen Family Farm this is the program for you! Not only will you receive 1
pre-tilled plot you will also receive 3 one-hour gardening classes on how to become an Advanced Gardener.
Classes include, planning, planting and soil. Pest and weed management and irrigation as well as harvest and a
one-on-one question and answer session with Farmer Luke.
Advanced: $85.00
In order to quality for this program you must have had a minimum of one year gardening at Petersen Family
Farm.
Each program will require a $50.00 refundable plot deposit if your plot remains free of weeds throughout the
year and is cleaned at the end of the season.
Includes:
1. 1 (one) pre-tilled plot approximately 200 sq. ft.
2. Plots will be open to plant as soon as the ground is prepared. This can theoretically begin as soon as
early as April 15th or as late as May 5th.
3. Plots will be fertilized at about 80 lbs. N and 60 lbs. P/acre (this is should be enough for any crop you
decide to grow)
4. Irrigation will take place when Farmer Luke irrigates, about once a week.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. The plots will be located at the North end of the field at the SE corner of 11800 South and 4000
West. Park along the park strip on 11800 South and enter through the gates. Climbing the fence in not
allowed any violations will result in a fine of $20.00 per instance.
2. Plots will be marked off with furrows at standard 30 inch spacing. Please do not tamper with in furrows
in the plots so that water will flow between plots.
3. No one is allowed in the field after irrigation until the soil surface is dry. 4. When/if trellising crops like peas, beans, or cucumbers please be try to minimize shading between
plots.
5. Weeds must be responsibly managed. You are required to pay a $50.00 plot deposit when signing this
contract. If your plot has been weed free and maintained throughout the season and cleaned by
October 31 you will receive your deposit back IN FULL. If at any time your plot has not been weed free
and maintained you are subject to a “Notice”. 1st notice will result in a $20.00 deduction of your
deposit. 2nd Notice will result in a $30.00 deduction of your deposit. 3rd Notice will result in reclaiming
your spot and forfeiting your deposit. You will then not be allowed to rent a garden plot the following
year. After receiving your “Notice” you will have 48 hours to clean your plot.
6. Farmer Luke will not be responsible for any crop failure in the plots. If my regular irrigation is not
enough for the crops you choose to plant then you will have to find another method of irrigation
between my irrigation intervals.
7. Absolutely no pets are allowed on the property. Children must be supervised at all times and no one is
allowed outside the plot area into my regular cropping area.
8. All sales are final. No refunds will be provided after receipt of payment.
