WORKING BEE – SUNDAY 17 MAY
On Sunday 17th May, the Club is holding its second working Bee to bring the
Marina back to the shape it should be. But we need your assistance!
The Working Bee will commence at 9am through to 12pm with a free sausage
sizzle and drinks for the volunteers at 12pm.
If everyone volunteers a few hours each we can have this Marina back in tip
top shape in no time. Please volunteer some of your valuable time for this
great cause.
Please advise the office if you will be attending [email protected]
IMPORTANT NOTICE – ELECTRICAL LEADS
As a result of the current electrical repair work on the Jetties, is has been
identified that a number of electrical extension leads used by boat owners do
not meet specifications, and some of them are downright dangerous.
As a matter of urgency, please ensure that your electrical extension leads are
“IP 56” or “IP 66”. This means that the extension lead MUST have waterproof
plugs. If they do not have waterproof plugs on them moisture may seep into
the connection; if moisture gets in, it could shut down the power supply to the
entire jetty.
Please feel free to contact the Bosun should you need any further information

FORMATION OF SUB-COMMITTEES
To take the Club forward into the future, the Committee is seeking to
establish a number of Sub-Committees comprised of Members.
Pens and Mooring Sub-Committee – Chaired by the Rear Commodore
Pens and Mooring. This committee will assist with the maintenance
and rectification of the Marina, as well as having a hand in the
development of new opportunities such as B Jetty and Protecting C, D,
E, and F Jetties. Contact Rear Commodore Pens and Moorings – Mr
Hugh Bamford.
Sailing and Regatta Sub-Committee – Chaired by the Rear Commodore
Regatta. This committee will look after all sailing and regatta activities,
as well as liaising with other clubs and creating more events. Approach
all sail members and engage them to become more involved and
active. Contact Rear Commodore Regatta – Mr Bob Freeth.
Power and Social Committee – Chaired by the Rear Commodore
Power. This committee will assist in engaging the members and
rebuilding the camaraderie that once existed. Social events and
functions should be a regular occurrence, along with regular working
bees. Contact Rear Commodore Power – Mr Givenchy Langer.
Please support your Club where it needs it most, your participation is
essential for the future of the Club.
SPECIAL THANKS
We had a big turnout last Sunday at the Working Bee with 32 Members coming
down to help out. The atmosphere was particularly jubilant and the
camaraderie was a fresh of breath air. Without our valued members the club
would not exist.
We would like to say a special thank you to all the members who volunteered
rd
their time on Sunday 3 May for the Busy Bee. Your help is greatly appreciated
