Pittsburgh is all about sports, with top
professional teams in football, baseball and
hockey, and the most devoted fan base in the
nation. And when it comes to table tennis,
Pittsburgh is home to America’s oldest
continuously operating club and hundreds of
active players.
This year we are happy to present Pittsburgh’s
first annual Steel City Open Table Tennis
Tournament, with over $1,600 in prize money and
a terrific venue. See back of this sheet for events
and schedule.
The top 8 finishers in the Open RR event will
receive points towards participation in the Grand
Final event of the North American Tour.

Location: Oakland Catholic High School, 144 North Craig Street,
Pittsburgh PA 15213. We’ll email a detailed map to all players.
Entry deadline: Mailed entries must be postmarked by Friday, April 24.
Online entries must be made by Wednesday, April 29. Payment must be
received by April 29.
Check-In: Starts at 8:00 am.
Referee: Dr. Bill Walk, IR/IU
Event staff: Chip Coulter (Tournament Director), Jeff Pepper (President
PRTTA), Mark Krotec (Volunteer Coordinator).
Proof of membership: All participants must be able to show proof of
current membership with USATT or an ITTF recognized body.
Membership can be renewed or purchased at the event.
Ratings: Ratings from the most current online USATT ratings list will be
used for qualifications and seedings.
Official tournament equipment: all Butterfly
tables, nets, barriers, and white 3-star
poly balls.
Refunds: Full refunds until April 29. No refunds after that date.
Policies: Events can be cancelled or combined at the discretion of the
tournament director. Events with insufficient entries may be cancelled
and refunds issued. No prizes will be awarded for splits, dumps, default
losses or no-shows. Play will be conducted under USATT rules. USATT
dress code will be enforced. White or yellow shirts not allowed. All
referee decisions are final.
