PKS Jumps!
PKS’s Jumprope for Heart presented by The American Heart Association has been postponed
until Thursday, May 7th. Ms. Rembisz will be dying her hair pink as promised because PKS raised
OVER $8,193.00! This is a new record for PKS. Congratulations and thank you everyone who
donated and participated in this important event. Students learned important lessons on how to
keep the body and heart healthy throughout their lives!

Congratulations to 8th grader Hailey Pacyna for winning two divisions in the Key Lime Products Key
Lime Pie Contest! Hailey won first place for most original and most creative! Wow! You know

PBS Volunteer Caught Ya Winner!
The March Volunteer Caught Ya drawing was held on Friday, May 1st. Sandy ElKoury’s name was
pulled from the Volunteer Caught Ya bin. Sandy is the mother of Brooke in fourth grade and
Cameron in seventh grade. Thanks to all who entered. Remember to drop your Volunteer Caught Ya
ticket in the Volunteer Caught Ya bin located at the front office and be eligible for the monthly
drawing! Thanks to all the volunteers who entered. PKS Rocks because of PBS and our Volunteers!
Got Box Tops?
The next cut off date to turn
in box tops is Friday, May
22nd. The homeroom that
collects the most box tops will win a
‘Make your own ice cream sundae’ party!
2015-2016 Seventh Graders!
PKS Cheerleading Nor The 2015-2016 School Year
Open tryouts for the PKS cheer squad will
be on Thursday, May 28th. A clinic will be
held on Tuesday, May 26 and Wednesday,
May 27th. ALL current cheer leaders as well
as interested cheerleaders must attend the
clinic and tryout. Tryouts are for grades 2-8
and students must have had dance,

Sunshine Young Readers Awards
The Sunshine Young Readers Awards will be distributed on Monday, May 18th. Again this year there will
be 2 Kindles given out. One for the top readers in grades Kindergarten thru Fifth grade and one for the top
reader in grades sixth thru eighth. Times that each grade will receive their awards will be coming soon.
Superintendent Porter will distribute the awards.

Friday, May 15th will be the last day students with no money in their accounts or without cash can charge meals in the
