How to Clear your Browser Cache
Internet Guides
Sometimes to fix errors with accessing web pages, you will need to clear your browser’s cache, also known as temporary internet
files. This document will cover how to clear the browser’s cache on many of the known browsers.
Note that these instructions may vary from your particular browser’s setup, sometimes changing completely, depending upon your
version and device. If these instructions do not work, you may need to consult your device’s manual or visit the support page for
your particular browser and/or operating system.
WINDOWS BROWSERS
GOOGLE CHROME VERSION 10 AND NEWER

Click the Menu icon
in the upper right corner of the browser.
Click Settings.
Click Show Advanced Settings at the bottom of the Settings section.
Scroll to the Privacy section and click Clear browsing data.
Select Empty the cache and Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data.
Change Obliterate the following items from to the beginning of time.
Click Clear browsing data.

Click the Tools icon
in the upper right corner of the browser.
Click Options.
In the Under the Hood tab, click Clear Browsing Data…
Select Empty the cache and Delete cookies.
Select the period of time you wish to delete cached information from the Clear data from this period dropdown menu.
Click Clear Browsing Data.

If your menu bar isn’t visible, click the Tools icon
Click Edit.
Click Empty Cache…
Click Empty.
and choose Show Menu bar.

Select Delete Browsing History…
a. You can also press Ctrl-Shift-Delete.
Make sure Temporary Internet Files, Cookies and History are selected.
a. If you’re having problems with familiar sites, uncheck Preserve Favorites website data. Otherwise, you can leave it
checked.
Click Delete.

Expand Details by clicking the down carat
Make sure Cache is selected.
Change Time range to clear: to Everything.
Select Clear Now.

Click Delete Private Data.

Press the Menu key.
Tap More Options.
Tap Settings.
Tap Clear Cache.
Tap OK or Clear Cache again, depending on your device.
Note: Androids vary wildly from device to device. For example, the Lenovo ThinkPad has no Menu key. For this device, you would go
into Android Settings from the home page, choose Apps from the Device section, select the All tab and tap Browser to get the Clear
cache option. Your own setup may be quite different.
