Britain’s Got Talent
Saturday 11th April, 8pm
Ant and Dec present the ninth series of Britain's biggest
talent search. The judging panel - comprising comedian
David Walliams, singer Alesha Dixon, actress Amanda
Holden and talent show supremo Simon Cowell - return for
the fourth year running, hoping to uncover more UK talent.
Auditions have been held across the country in a bid to find
a variety act fit for royalty and worthy of a big cash prize,
with the judges attending performances in Edinburgh,
Manchester, Birmingham and London. Previous
contestants, including singers Paul Potts and Susan Boyle,
dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey and last year’s winners
Collabro, have gone on to achieve success across the
globe. The judges provide as much entertainment as the
acts themselves as they debate the talent and
entertainment value of each wannabe superstar. None of
the hopefuls wish to hear the dreaded sound of the judges'
buzzers, but if all four judges push them, the audition will be cut short and the dream will be over.
This year sees the return of the golden buzzer, which enables each judge - plus hosts Ant and Dec
- to send one act each straight through to the live semi-finals regardless of the other judges’
opinions. Ant and Dec wait in the wings to provide support, either joining in the celebrations or
offering a shoulder to cry on, as the acts exit the stage. Which of the acts will be returning for
another performance and the chance to take the stage at this year's Royal Variety Show?
Ninja Warrior UK

attempt to complete three punishing and
potentially hilarious stages.
250 ambitious competitors will start, but few will

Play to the Whistle
Saturday 11th April, 9.20pm
Holly Willoughby presents the brand new family
entertainment show which combines two of the
nation’s biggest passions - sport and comedy. Each
week’s episode features a line-up of top sportsmen,
comedians and celebrities. There is amusing chat
about clips of memorable sporting moments, the
way in which TV viewers celebrated them and how
the sportsmen and women felt at the time. The
programme includes specially filmed sequences
featuring sports stars interacting with members of
the general public. Cameras also reveal Britain’s
Accidental Sporting Heroes in contests involving
such phenomena as two commuters sprinting up an escalator. Studio-based games include Get In
the Hole, which involves playing speed golf around the set, and Park The Bus, in which a
blindfolded team captain has to park the bus in front of goal guided by the shouts of his teammates. All is wrapped up in a frantic finale as they play Squeaky Buzzer Time. Holly’s 15-year
career as a TV presenter has seen her appear as the face of ITV’s This Morning, present Text
Santa with Ant & Dec and serve as a team captain on Celebrity Juice. In 2006 she won a BAFTA
for her work on children’s TV.
Wild Ireland
Monday 13th April, 8pm
Former host of The One Show
Christine Bleakley – herself
originally from County Down –
presents this new series in
which she drives, climbs, walks
and swims her way along the
longest continuous coastal
route in the world, Ireland’s
1500-mile Wild Atlantic Way.
The route passes through
counties and three provinces,
stretching from County
Donegal’s Inishowen Peninsula
to Kinsale in County Cork on
the Celtic Sea coast. Along the
way there are places and
attractions which have been
points of interest and
pilgrimage for
travellers over the
generations. Lough
Swilly was the
departure point for
many Irish people
leaving for the New
World during the
great famine of
1847. Originally
built by the
Normans, Doe
Castle became a

base for a British garrison
during the nineteenth century.
Bundoran has become a
destination for surfers in recent
years – for those brave enough
to face the waves that crash in
off the ocean. At Streedagh
beach, there are shipwrecks left
behind by the Spanish Armada
on their ill-fated attempt to
reach home in 1588. In this
episode Christine explores
Ireland’s most northerly point,
Malin Head in Donegal, climbs
some of the highest sea cliffs in
Europe, learns how to prepare
a wild salmon for smoking and
joins a group of daredevils who
explore the landscape by
coasteering, a new activity
which involves jumping from a
cliff into the sea!

Give a Pet a Home
11th - 17th
April 2015
Wednesday 15th April, 8pm
This brand new series sees Amanda Holden recruit a team of
celebrity animal lovers who leave their glitzy and glamorous
lives behind as they devote their time, with the support of the
RSPCA, to finding a new home for the mistreated and
abandoned creatures who arrive at Newbrook Farm Animal

Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and Olympic gold medallist
Denise Lewis OBE. After an initial intensive training period

at the deep end. At the heart of each show is the weekly
rehoming appeal. Every week, six new animals available for

apply to adopt the featured pets via the itv.com website. Successful applicants will be featured on
the following week’s show.

This one-off documentary tells the heartwarming story of three extraordinary children at the forefront
of cancer research as they become some of the first children in the world to go through
experimental treatment at London’s world-famous Great Ormond Street Hospital. 12-year-old
Sophie, 11-year-old Fabian and 3-year-old Chloe (pictured) are going through an ordeal no child
should have to suffer. A diagnosis of childhood cancer is every parent’s worst nightmare, but the
children’s outlook is in turns brave, funny and humbling. Their indomitable spirit shines through at
even the worst of times, and Sophie’s motto of “Happy Happy Happy, Fun Fun Fun, Always Smile”
typifies the attitude of these inspiring kids. Their families are putting their faith in immunotherapy, a
highly experimental new line of treatment that
doctors hope will one day bring an end to cancer
for good. Filmed over two years in hospital and at
home, the film captures everything from the joy
and excitement of the successes to the pain and
heartache when things go wrong. It also shows
how the lives of their families and siblings,
including Chloe’s 8-year-old brother James, are
affected and how they deal with the challenges.
The decisions they make – and the risks the
children take with their own lives – will hopefully
benefit countless children and adults affected by
cancer in the future.

Weekend Escapes with Warwick Davis
Friday 17th April, 8pm
Warwick Davis and his family return for a second
series of the show in which they go on holiday in
different parts of the UK in their trusty camper
van. Warwick aims to find out what the British
holiday can provide that cannot be found in other
parts of the world. He investigates what makes a
quintessential British holiday and explores the
attractions we have to offer, meeting lots of
friendly characters along the way. The series also
provides an amusing insight into how families
behave on holiday. Warwick’s family, especially
his kids Harrison and Annabelle, do not share his
passion for home-based holidays, so he sets out to change their opinions throughout the series. He
struggles with his family’s laid-back approach as he admits that he is an obsessive camping
enthusiast. The first programme finds the family in the Midlands. Warwick is determined to find out
whether it can give St Tropez a run for its money. Their first stop is the Peak District, where
Warwick gets stranded 40 feet up a pole during a stint with Derbyshire mountain rescue. Warwick
then finds himself in hoover heaven when his family surprise him with a trip to Heanor’s vacuum
cleaner museum. The Davis clan then step back in time to visit the Black Country living museum in
full Victorian garb and end up enlisting to fight in the First World War.
Britain’s Got More Talent
Saturday 11th April, 9.20pm
Having just concluded another hilarious series of
the family entertainment show Big Star’s Little
Star, Stephen Mulhern returns to host a brand
new series of the mammoth talent competition’s
companion show. As the main show kicks off
with the first round of auditions, Stephen goes
backstage to uncover all the latest news, views
and gossip from the programme. As well as all
the usual shenanigans, Stephen catches up with
the acts, hosts and judges to quiz them about
the latest happenings onstage. Stephen’s
cheeky banter with Simon Cowell, Amanda
Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon
usually results in some rather more candid
opinions from the judges than they might
offer on the main show. Also in store are
plenty of behind-the-scenes surprises as
expert magician Stephen wows the waiting
contestants with a trick or two. Starting with
the auditions and following the competition
through every stage to the final, Britain’s
Got More Talent is the ideal companion to
one of the biggest shows of the year. As
the live shows arrive, Stephen grills
celebrity guests and contestants alike as he
strives to find out all the biggest stories and
opinions relating to the UK’s biggest talent

The Vampire Diaries
Wednesday 15th April, 9pm
The sixth season of the US supernatural drama series
continues this week on ITV2. Co-created by teen
drama king Kevin Williamson (Scream, Dawson’s
Creek) and based on novels by LJ Smith, the series
tells the story of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev), a
resident of the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.

problems. In the previous series, Elena finally succumbed to Damon’s charms, but their romance
was short-lived when she left town and started college. Each episode this series is named after a
90s song as the vampires recall their arrival in Mystic Falls through a series of flashbacks. In this
week’s episode, entitled The Day I Tried to Live, Elena and Damon celebrate Bonnie's (Kat
Graham) birthday against Jeremy’s (Steven R McQueen) wishes. Meanwhile, after learning Stefan's
secret, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) wants to interfere in Sarah Salvatore's (Tristin May) life, and
Caroline (Candice Accola) struggles to cope with everything going on around her.

Gosford Park *
Sunday 12th April, 9pm
ITV3 viewers are offered another chance to see director Robert
Altman’s star-studded, Oscar-winning film which combines a
murder mystery with a look at the rigid class division at an English
country house in the 1930s. Julian Fellowes, who won the
Academy Award for best original screenplay, later developed the
themes in his hugely successful Downton Abbey drama series, set
in a similar estate and covering the early 20th-century.
In November 1932, Constance, Countess of Trentham (Maggie
Smith), and her lady's maid, Mary MacEachran (Kelly Macdonald),
travel to Gosford Park for the weekend. On the way, they
encounter actor Ivor Novello (Jeremy Northam), American film producer Morris Weissman (Bob
Balaban) and his valet, Henry Denton (Ryan Phillippe). At the house, they are greeted by Lady
Trentham's nephew Sir William McCordle (Michael Gambon) and his wife Lady Sylvia McCordle
(Kristin Scott Thomas). The other guests include Lady Sylvia's sisters, Louisa, Lady Stockbridge
(Geraldine Somerville) and Lady Lavinia Meredith (Natasha Wightman) and their husbands,
Raymond, Lord Stockbridge (Charles Dance) and Commander Anthony Meredith (Tom Hollander).
The below-stairs staff include housekeeper Mrs Wilson (Helen Mirren) and first footman George
(Richard E Grant). When Sir William is found stabbed by an unknown assailant, the local police in
the form of Inspector Thomson (Stephen Fry) arrive to investigate the murderK
Inside Asprey: Luxury by Royal
Appointment *
Sunday 12th April, 8pm
Jim Carter narrates this
documentary revealing the
inside story of Asprey, the
British institution which supplies
crowns, coronets and sceptres
for royal families around the
world, trading in luxury goods
for over 230 years. The flagship
retail store stands on New
Bond Street, one of London's
most prestigious thoroughfares.
Founded as a silk printing
business in 1781 by William
Asprey in Mitcham, Surrey, the
company soon became a
byword for elegance and
moved to its present location in
1847. As the business grew,
the company acquired
manufacturing facilities and
hired silversmiths,
goldsmiths,
jewellers and
watchmakers
including Ernest
Betjeman, the father
of the distinguished
poet John Betjeman
and one of the most
highly regarded
craftsman and
ITV.com
designers of his day.
The documentary follows the
work of the staff, the store and
the customers over the course
of one summer. Asprey has
always been popular with
wealthy customers, whose
desire for the finest quality,
coupled with personalised
service means that they are
prepared to pay a premium. In
the workshop above the
emporium are the highly-skilled
silversmiths, who craft much of
the merchandise by hand. Early
clients included J Pierpont
Morgan, the Maharaja of
Patiala and Queen Mary, and
the store still carries a royal
warrant from the Prince of
Wales.

Carl Froch: Sports Life Stories
Tuesday 14th April, 10pm
This week’s edition of the
sports documentary series
features the British boxer Carl
Froch, four-time world
champion in the supermiddleweight division. The
Nottingham fighter talks about
his boyhood when he dreamed
of playing football for
Nottingham Forest, his days as
an amateur, winning the ABA
middleweight title in the late
90s, to turning professional in
2002 to tread the path of
success. His record is
impressive with 33 professional
wins - 24 by knockout - and
only two defeats. Froch’s two
most recent fights were against
fellow Brit George Groves, with
the first so controversial that
Gracepoint
the IBF ordered a rematch
within 90 days. Froch was
knocked down in the first
round and three judges had
Groves ahead on points before
a series of powerful blows from
Froch caused the referee to
stop the fight in the ninth
round, with Froch retaining his
IBF and WBA world titles. The
rematch was one of the hottest
tickets in boxing history. Both
men started in much more
cagey fashion than the first
fight, trying to outbox each
other until the eighth round
when Froch knocked Groves
clean out with a blow described
by commentator Mike Costello
as ‘the best punch you will ever
see in a British boxing ring’.
Wednesday 15th April, 10pm
Staunchly loyal to his home
town, Froch is still a huge fan
of Nottingham Forest and has
held many of his fights in the
city. He reflects on 12 years of
professional boxing, the last six
at the pinnacle of the sport.
Contributors include Carl’s
partner Rachael Cordingley,
coach Rob McCracken and
former champion Barry
McGuigan.
The American remake of Broadchurch, also starring David Tennant and featuring two detectives
investigating the murder of a boy in a tightly-knit coastal community, continues. In episode three, as
Mark Solano (Michael Pena) is questioned by the police, Carver (David Tennant) and Ellie (Anna
Gunn) want to know about the traces of blood found in his boat and how his fingerprints were found
at the summer house near the crime scene. He acknowledges that the blood was Danny’s but
claims that he cut his foot on a lure while out on a fishing trip. When Mark’s workmate Vince
(Stephen Louis Grush) gives him an alibi, the police are not convinced and he is arrested for
obstructing the investigation. Raymond (Adam Greydon Reid) approaches Beth (Virginia Kull),
claiming to have received a message from beyond the grave. He tells her that Danny was killed by
someone close to the family, in a boat. Tom Miller
(Jack Irvine) is questioned by Carver and reveals
that Mark once lashed out and struck Danny. More
about Carver's illness is revealed, and Beth
considers Paul's (Kevin Rankin) proposal for a
memorial service. Chloe (Madalyn Horcher) texts
Gemma (Sarah-Jane Potts) for help, and Gemma
tells the police that Mark was with her the night
Danny died. Mark is released but when he refuses
to tell Beth where he was when Danny died, she
virtually accuses him of killing their son.

Thunderbirds Are Go
Saturday 11th April, 8am
Fifty years after its television debut, the classic
series is back, settled into its regular home on
CITV. The reinvention of Gerry and Sylvia
Anderson’s vastly popular series features a
talented cast led by Rosamund Pike as Lady
Penelope and David Graham reprising his role
as chauffeur and International Rescue agent
Parker. Also starring are Kayvan Novak as
inventor Brains and Thomas Brodie-Sangster as
the voice of John Tracy. Using a unique mix of
CGI animation and live-action model sets, the
series delivers a new level of action-adventure
animation for the 21st century while continuing
to pay tribute to the original 1960s phenomenon
which captivated a generation. In this week’s
episode, Space Race, Alan (Rasmus Hardiker)
is on space junk duty. Things take a serious
turn when one of the pieces of debris turns out
to be a heat-seeking SAT-MINE that activates
and locks onto TB3’s heat signature. Alan pulls
off some incredible manoeuvres in order to
dodge the mine, but can only stay out of its way
for so long. Back on Earth, Lady Penelope and
Parker need to devise and implement a plan

in Italy, letting slip about her mum’s flirtations with Callum. David tires of his house guests and tells
Sarah that she and Bethany are not welcome. David almost
catches Sarah and Callum in the act, but Callum covers his tracks
and announces that he is taking David to court over Max. David
demands answers from Gail after following her to the real Gavin’s
grave. Faye blames herself for Owen and Anna’s split and wonders
if giving the baby away could resolve the situation. Assuring Faye
that none of it is her fault, Owen makes a last attempt to change
Anna’s mind, but she refuses to back down. Owen decides to leave
Weatherfield, leaving Izzy devastated. Faye struggles with the
baby. Tracy and Tony continue their affair and decide that they would like to run a pub together.
Tony promises Tracy that he will dump Liz for her when the time is right, but Tracy has her sights
set on the Rovers and comes up with a plan to oust Steve and Liz. Nick and Carla grow closer. On
a day out, Sean and Billy are shocked when a homophobic landlord refuses to let a room to them.
Eileen falls for Todd’s scheming, proudly showing off photos of ‘Jeff’ from her dating website. Julie
is upset when she learns that Dev is extending his stay in India following his uncle’s death.
