Man & Beast with Martin Clunes
Friday 15th May, 9pm
In the first of two programmes, Martin Clunes sets out on a journey
around the world to investigate the extraordinary relationship
between man and beast. From birds to bears, and from pets to
primates, Martin observes humans and animals working side by
side in ways that have existed and evolved over thousands of
years. Martin begins his journey in Nepal, where the cow is sacred
and ownership of cattle symbolises wealth, strength and prosperity.
Martin meets Shubaka Chowlagi, a farmer who supports his entire
family with just eight cows. In common with all cows in Hindu
countries, Shubaka’s beasts are kept purely for dairy, but they also
produce enough dung to provide his household with gas for
cooking and lighting. Even their urine is used as a pesticide on
crops. Martin’s travels take him on to Ko Yao Noi in Thailand. The
island is a popular tourist spot, but it also has a traditional agricultural economy where people have
to work hard to survive. He meets Sarawut, a pigtail macaque monkey who has been trained to pick
coconuts. Martin raises lamb and beef on his own farm in Dorset. An animal lover and meat eater,
he explains that his herd have been raised like generations of domesticated animals before them
and are killed as humanely as possible. Killing animals bred for the table is one thing, but killing wild
animals for the pot stirs up very different emotions for Martin as he meets one of the surviving
members of the ancient Matagi tribe of northern Japan. The Matagi hunted and killed the Asian
black bear partly for their own safety, but also as a source of food.
Britain’s Got Talent
Saturday 9th May, 8pm
Ant and Dec continue to
present the ninth exciting
series of Britain's biggest talent
search. The current judging
panel of comedian David
Walliams, singer Alesha Dixon,
actress Amanda Holden and
talent show supremo Simon
Cowell have returned for the
fourth year running, hoping to
uncover the next superstar.
Auditions have been held
across the country in a bid to
find a variety act fit for royalty
and worthy of a big cash prize,
with the judges attending
performances in Edinburgh,
Manchester, Birmingham and
London. Previous contestants,
including singers Paul Potts
and Susan Boyle, dog act
Ashleigh and Pudsey and last
year’s winners Collabro, have
gone on to achieve success
across the globe. The judges
provide as much entertainment
as the acts themselves as they
debate the talent and
entertainment value of each
wannabe superstar. None of
the hopefuls wish to hear the
ITV.com
dreaded sound of the judges'
buzzers, but if all four judges
push them, the audition will be
cut short and the dream will be
over. This year sees t\he
return of the golden buzzer,
which enables each judge –
plus Ant and Dec – to send
one act straight through to the
live semi-finals regardless of
the other judges’ opinions. Ant
and Dec wait in the wings to
provide support, either joining
in the celebrations or offering a
shoulder to cry on, as the acts
exit the stage. Which of the
acts will be returning for
another performance and the
chance to take the stage at
this year's Royal Variety Show,
as well as pocketing the
£250,000 prize?

Safe House
Monday 11th May, 9pm
Christopher Eccleston, Marsha Thomason and Paterson
Joseph star in this brand new four-part thriller, set in the
beautiful wilderness of the Lake District. Former
detective Robert (Eccleston) and his wife Katy
(Thomason) are asked by close friend and ex-colleague
DCI Mark Maxwell (Joseph) to turn their remote guest
house into a safe house. David Blackwell (Jason
Merrells) and his family have been pretending to be
ordinary holidaymakers while the police track down his
assailant. His wife Ali (Nicola Stephenson) and children
Louisa (Harriet Cains) and Joe (Max True) have also
had to settle into their new life. While the police believe
they are closing in on the man hunting the family, Robert takes a closer look at Ali and her sister’s
relationship. Katy still has her doubts about Robert's methods and questions him further. Robert
confronts Mark about a past decision. Meanwhile, Joe is worried that he may have made a mistake
that could endanger the family. In the final episode, the investigation into Michael Collersdale (Peter
Ferdinando) takes an unexpected turn and Robert has worrying news for David and Ali. Meanwhile,
Sam Blackwell (James Burrows) and his younger brother Joe decide to head off across the lake and
are caught up in a terrifying ordeal. Robert and Mark work to resolve the situation, but when events
dramatically spiral, the consequences are serious for both the family and Robert as he finds himself
in direct opposition to Mark.

Play to the Whistle
Saturday 9th May, 9.15pm
Holly Willoughby presents the family entertainment show
which brings together two of the nation’s biggest
passions - sport and comedy. Each week’s episode
features a line-up of top sportsmen, comedians and
celebrities for traditional panel show rounds. There is
amusing chat about clips of memorable sporting
moments, the way in which TV viewers celebrated them
and how the sportsmen and women felt at the time. The
programme includes specially filmed sequences
featuring sports stars interacting with members of the
general public. Also revealed are Britain’s Accidental
Sporting Heroes, featuring escapades such as
commuters sprinting up an escalator. Fun studio-based games include Get In the Hole, which
involves speed golf around the set, and Park The Bus, in which a blindfolded team captain has to
park the bus in front of goal guided by the shouts of his team-mates. All is wrapped up in a frantic
finale as contestants play Squeaky Buzzer Time. Holly is assisted by team captains Frank Lampard
and Bradley Walsh. Guests this week are former Wimbledon tennis champion Pat Cash, comedian
Bob Mortimer and Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson, alongside regulars Romesh Ranganathan,
Seann Walsh and Jimmy Bullard.
Celebrity Squares
Sunday 10th May, 7.15pm
The classic comedy game show continues its
second series on ITV this week following a
successful revival in 2014. Based on the famous
American game show Hollywood Squares, this is
the show’s third UK incarnation, with the original
series having aired between 1975 and 1979 and
a second between 1993 and 1997, both hosted
by the late, great Bob Monkhouse. The host this
time around is actor and presenter Warwick
Davis, also seen recently on ITV with the second
outing of his Weekend Escapes series. The idea
of the game is simple – two ‘civilian’ contestants
play a giant version of noughts and crosses, with
celebrity guests housed in nine square boxes.
The contestants decide whether their chosen
celebrity has answered each question
correctly, gaining a square for each correct
decision until one of them has three squares
in a row or five squares in total, to bank
money and win the round. The contestant
who wins the most prize money then has the
chance to play for a £25,000 jackpot. In the
fourth show, Warwick is joined by chat show
supremo Jonathan Ross, TV presenters
Gabby Logan and Laura Whitmore,
comedians Tony Law, Nina Conti and Shappi
Khorsandi, boy band Union J and resident
comedians Tim Vine and Joe Wilkinson.

Fraud Squad
9th - 15th
May 2015
Thursday 14th May, 9pm
The documentary series which follows detectives from
the City of London and Metropolitan Police concludes.
With exclusive access to surveillance operations,
interviews with victims and coverage of arrests, this
programme lifts the lid on the lucrative world of
cheque counterfeiting, highlighting the case of a gang
who committed the biggest ever bank cheque fraud in
Britain. The gang stole and counterfeited thousands of
cheques from ordinary citizens, small businesses and
charities across Britain. Detectives have already
arrested the key members of the Zimbabwean gang,
who are believed to have made over £5 million. In the
second part of the investigation, Detectives now examine how the gang are moving their millions
abroad and step up their hunt for the ringleader. To distance themselves from the crime, the gang
use an army of ‘mules’ to cash their counterfeit cheques in return for a small commission.
Detectives launch raids across Yorkshire to arrest the ‘mules’ and discover that the gang are
systematically wiring money back to Zimbabwe via Western Union transfers. Detectives also trace
the ringleader to London and discover that he is building a new cheque fraud empire in the capital.
They place him under surveillance and secretly film him buying the high-quality printers he needs to
produce his counterfeits. On his arrest, detectives find thousands of US dollars, stolen and
counterfeit cheques and numerous false identities.

UEFA Champions League Live: Bayern
Munich v Barcelona
Tuesday 12th May, 7.30pm
Mark Pougatch and the team present live
coverage of the second leg of the semi-final
between Bayern Munich and Barcelona at the
Allianz Arena. German champions Bayern Munich
are currently managed by Pep Guardiola, who
won this trophy with Barcelona twice as head
coach and once as a player. Bayern are currently
cantering to their 25th Bundesliga title, and will be
confident of getting their hands on this trophy for
a sixth time after their quarter-final display against
Porto, who were crushed 6-1 at the Allianz Arena.
Barcelona also showed their class in the quarterfinal, beating the much-fancied Paris SaintGermain 5-1 over two legs. They are currently
locked in combat with their great rivals Real Madrid, who face Juventus in the other semi-final, at
the top of La Liga. These two clubs met in the semi-final two years ago, which resulted in a
remarkable 7-0 aggregate win for the German champions. It must be considered unlikely that such
a score will be repeated. Mark is joined by Roy Keane, Paul Scholes and Lee Dixon for expert
analysis, while commentary is provided by Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend. A place in the final,
which takes place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on June 6, beckons for the winners.
Hell’s Kitchen *
Tuesday 12th May, from 9pm
Multi-award-winning British chef Gordon Ramsay
continues his US cooking competition as the
remaining handful of chefs gear up to take on
the next gruelling challenge. As the Michelinstarred super-chef puts the contestants, who all
have a catering background, through their
paces, only one hopeful will emerge victorious
with the offer of a head chef’s position at one of
his renowned eateries. As ever, the men (blue
team) are up against the women (red team) for
each challenge, with luxurious rewards for the
winners and drudgery and misery for the losers
each week. Having angered and pleased
Gordon in equal measure this series, the teams
are now running out of time to impress the fiery
Scot as the competition thunders towards the
finale. In the first of this week’s shows, the
teams are tasked with creating mouth-watering
steak dishes in a bid to impress Gordon and
the owner of a renowned restaurant, before
overseeing a dinner service in which they go
head-to-head with Ramsay and other top
chefs. In the second episode of this week’s
double bill, the remaining chefs cater for 40
‘glampers’ before a hectic dinner service which
leads to a difficult decision for the chefs and
Gordon himself. Who will pay the ultimate
price and be forced to leave the competition at
this late stage?

Celebrity Juice
Thursday 14th May, 10pm
ITV2’s favourite Yorkshireman Keith Lemon continues
the thirteenth series of TV’s ultimate guilty viewing
pleasure this week. The hilarious comedy panel show
remains the most popular show on the channel,
continuing to reach audiences of well over a million

to appear. After a memorable stint as guest captain,
This Morning’s cheeky chef Gino D’Acampo has now

alongside team captains Fearne Cotton and Holly
Willoughby. A whole host of new stars have already
joined the regulars this series, including Capital Radio DJs Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon, boy band

presenters Eamonn Holmes, Vernon Kay and Caroline Flack, Jackass star Steve-O, Pointless star
and creator Richard Osman and TV doctor Christian Jessen. After seven years and thirteen series

whoever dares to appear this week had better come prepared!
The Bachelor *
Friday 15th May, 8pm
The matchmaking-themed reality series
concludes its 16th series this week on ITVBe as
Californian Bachelor Ben Flajnik makes his final
decision on which lady he would like to spend
his life with. Ben and finalists Courtney and
Lindzi head to Zermatt in Switzerland for some
final Alpine fun before Ben makes his truly tough
decision. After skiing with Lindzi and a helicopter
ride over the Matterhorn with Courtney, it is time
to give out that final rose, signifying Ben’s
chosen one. First, there are meetings with Ben's
mother Barbara and sister Julia, who are
concerned about Courtney’s reputation for not
playing nicely with the other bachelorettes, as
well as her career as a model. Will her conduct
throughout the show come back to bite her at
the final hurdle? Lindzi impresses Ben’s family,
talking to his mother about their ‘magic
ingredient’. Her work initially seems to pay off as
Julia admits that she would pick Lindzi for Ben if
given the choice, but Courtney soon lays on the
charm and eventually elicits a glowing
recommendation from the pair. With Ben the
only one who can make a decision, who will he
choose, and who will be left heartbroken?
Following the tense finale, stay tuned to ITVBe
for a special programme taking a look at the
aftermath of the current series. In After the Final
Rose, Ben and his chosen lady discuss their
relationship since the show. Will they have gone
the distance?

Lewis
9th - 15th
May 2015
Wednesday 13th May, 8pm
ITV3 offers viewers another
chance to see an episode from
series six of the popular
detective drama, as Inspector
Robbie Lewis (Kevin Whately)
and his partner DS Hathaway
(Laurence Fox) investigate
more murders against the
backdrop of Oxford. At the time
of filming, Kevin Whately had
been playing Lewis for nearly
25 years, first as Inspector
Morse’s assistant, before
getting promotion and his own
series. The Indelible Stain,
which also stars Clare Holman,
Rebecca Front, David Soul
(pictured), Jason Durr, Patrick
Baladi, Nancy Carroll and Nina
Sosanya, sees the duo looking
into the murder of an American
academic.
Deep-seated emotions are
stirred up when controversial
American Professor Paul
Yelland (Soul) is asked to
speak at Oxford's Department
of Criminology about his theory
of 'dangerousness'. Many
people, including local antiracism activist Myra (Sian
Webber), are worried that such
ideas could be used to target
ethnic minorities. Yelland also
faces opposition within the
lecture theatre, though the
department's director, Anne
Rand (Carroll), is pleased at
the publicity. Later, Yelland is
found strangled. As Lewis and
Hathaway investigate the
sensitive case, they find that

including a student, two women

ITV4 continues its live coverage and highlights of the FIA Formula E motor racing series which this
week reaches round seven and takes place in Monaco following two consecutive rounds in the US.
The first Formula E event in Europe, the Monaco race takes place over a modified configuration of
the GP street circuit, taking in the magnificent harbour in this most famous of motor sports locations.
Currently leading the standings is the Brazilian Lucas di Grassi driving for Audi Sport. He has 75
points, just one in front of his fellow countryman Nelson Piquet, who moved into second place after
his win for China Racing in the last round at Long Beach. This was the first Formula E win for the
29-year-old son of the three-times F1 world
champion Nelson senior. Nicolas Prost, another
driver with a famous name, is in third place. The
son of French F1 legend Alain achieved his first
Formula E win in Miami but came a disappointing
14th at Long Beach and now trails Piquet by 5
points in the standings. The e.dams-Renault team,
however, with Nicolas and Sebastien Buemi as its
drivers, stands at the top of the team leader board.
It is also noteworthy that the six races so far this
season have produced six different winners, and
with four rounds to go the championship remains
wide open.

Arthur & George
Monday 11th May, 9pm
ITV Encore presents another opportunity to see the three-part
mini-series, based on real events, about the relationship between
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, and George
Edalji, a man sentenced to prison for a crime he maintained he
did not commit. It is 1906 and Conan Doyle (Martin Clunes) is
mourning the loss of his wife Louisa, whose death after a long
illness, has caused Arthur to slump into a guilt-ridden depression.
He fears that Louisa may have suspected him of adultery due to
his friendship with Jean Leckie (Hattie Morahan). Then his
secretary Woodie (Charles Edwards) comes across a letter from George Edalji (Arsher Ali), a young
Parsee solicitor, who has been sent to prison for three years for a crime for which he claims to be
innocent. George wants Arthur’s help to clear his name – could this be his chance to right a wrong?
George was convicted in 1903 of sending poison pen letters and animal parts in the Staffordshire
village of Great Wyrley. He tells the story the persecution of his family that led to his arrest, and
Arthur is convinced of his innocence, but Woodie is not so sure. Having been warned against
reinvestigating the case by the very judge who presided over the trial, Arthur is even more
determined to discover the true culprit – the so-called Wyrley Ripper. Arthur and Woodie travel to
the village to visit George’s family, where they are shown the letters that George’s father, the
Reverend Shapurji Edalji (Art Malik) received, supposedly from his own son. However, Arthur and
Woodie’s arrival at the vicarage causes a bit of a stir – it seems that someone is determined to find
out how much they know. Could this be the Wyrley Ripper trying to warn them off?
Thunderbirds Are Go
Saturday 9th May, 8am
Fifty years after its television debut, the classic
series is back and settled into its regular home
on CITV. The re-invention of Gerry and Sylvia
Anderson’s vastly popular series features a
talented cast, led by Rosamund Pike as Lady
Penelope and David Graham reprising his role
as chauffeur and International Rescue agent
Parker, and also stars Kayvan Novak as inventor
Brains and Thomas Brodie-Sangster as the

animation and live-action model sets, the series
delivers a new level of action-adventure
animation for the 21st century while continuing
to pay tribute to the original 1960s phenomenon
which captivated a generation.
Showing this week is the episode
Runaway. A strange malfunction
leaves a superconducting train in
Japan unable to stop. Brains comes
up with a solution that involves reconfiguring the power distribution,
