New students that have not taken an admissions test or mature student test must
complete a Computerized College Placement Test (CCPT) before registering for their
first semester writing and mathematics courses.
Students enrolled in degree and postgraduate programs are not required to complete
CCPTs. Students that have previously completed CCPT testing as part of the preadmissions process for their program are not required to complete tests again.
Students will not have a complete timetable until CCPT testing is finished, as their
Writing and/or Math course(s) will be missing from their timetable.

Students who are required to complete CCPT testing but have not done so yet are
welcome to come to the North (B104) or Lakeshore (A235) Test Centres between May
5-8 and complete their CCPT test(s) between the hours of 9AM and 2PM. Students do
not need to call to book an appointment. Government-issued photo ID must be
presented at the Test Centre before being permitted to take the test(s).
Late Testing Fee Information
For domestic students, if CPT/EPT tests are not taken by April 17, a late testing fee of
$40 will be charged and applied to their account within 1-3 weeks. Domestic students
who were admitted to their program after April 3 or live over 2 hours away from campus
will not be charged a late fee. These students can bring their offer letter directly to the
Test Centre to take their tests.
For International students, if CCPT tests are not taken by April 17, and they arrived in
Canada before April 3, a late testing fee of $40 will be charged. Late arrivals to Canada
must bring their passport directly to the Test Centre to demonstrate their time of arrival
to have the late testing fee waived.
Please note that these tests will not be used to alter any admission decisions that have
already been made; rather, they are used to accurately register you in the appropriate
Writing and Math courses. Based on students’ test results, they may be required to
complete remedial writing and/or Math course that may result in additional course fees.
Depending on the specific program, students may need to take one or more of the
following CPT assessments:
Algebra Skills - Arithmetic Skills - Writing Sample
Additional information, including sample tests can be found here:
http://www.humber.ca/testcentre/placementtesting.
