Emmery Thompson- NASM-Certified Personal Trainer / Sports Performance Enhancement Specialist My love for physical activity started at a young age with basketball. I went on to have a successful career on the court, even winning a California CIF Championship in high school and playing at the college and semi-pro levels. Making the transition from the court to the gym was an easy one for
me. I took the philosophies I learned in the game and applied them to my training sessions. I understand a variety of workout methods and
know what it takes to accomplish goals and take it to the next level not just physically, but mentally as well. I am passionate about helping
others; through a supportive, enjoyable yet challenging workout environment my personalized training plan can help you reach your goals.
Whether you want to lose weight, tone up or gain muscle, I can tailor a fitness program fit to your needs. I am known for mixing up the
workouts. We will move from room to room and even head outdoors. I promise you will never get bored!
Sarkis Payaslyan- ISSA-Certified I am a knowledgeable, passionate, fitness trainer designing & monitoring exercise programs spe-
cific to each members needs. I am the type of trainer who is results oriented, with a mission to create a fun, yet motivating program to improve strength, increase stamina and develop a more balanced sense of well-being. I like to think of myself as a fitness fanatic, and enjoy
sharing my fitness knowledge with everyone I meet. Any goal is attainable with the right amount of dedication, and desire. I make it my

Jacqueline Licciardi- ACE Personal Trainer Certification Before I was an employee with the Burbank YMCA, I was a member.
When I first joined I was 40 lbs. overweight and very depressed. With the help of the Y, I lost weight, gained confidence, and established a
better sense of control over my life. Since then I have become a group fitness instructor and a certified personal trainer. I have walked in
your shoes, and now my goal is to make sure you reach your goals, just as I have.

Ann Howard- AFAA Certified I have been a member of the Burbank YMCA since 1996 and an AFAA certified group exercise instructor
since January of 2009, including Kick Boxing and Private Training. I enjoy working with members to make their exercise experience effective through proper form and follow through. I also enjoy finding creative ways to exercise each muscle group while being pro-active to gently work & stretch injured areas. And best of all I find it very valuable to end each workout with an assisted stretch.
Jeremy Shelton- ACT Personal Training / Texas Yoga Institute My goal as a fitness trainer is to motivate, inspire and encour-
age Burbank YMCA members to reach their full potential. When creating programs I use a member’s background, goals and exercise experience to customize a workout that will make them feel and look great! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education which makes teaching fitness
very natural. I also have 4 years of experience as a college level athlete and over ten years of experience as a certified yoga instructor.
Jimmy Horgan—Healthy Lifestyles Trainer / Registered Nurse I have worked at the Burbank YMCA for the past 7 years. Work-
ing at the Y has given me a stronger appreciation for health and fitness. Helping people achieve their health and fitness goals motivated me
to pursue a career in nursing. Subsequently, I obtained my registered nursing license. With my medical and physical training background I

Patrick Beck- Certified CrossFit Trainer My goal for each and everyone of my clients is physical independence. In life we have to be
ready for any type of situation which is why you have to constantly vary your workouts. I stress safety, functionality and intensity. Each
work out will be timed and recorded so you can track your progress and always have a goal to work towards. Let's work together to find

Jenifer Straley- US Masters Swim Coach / Schwinn Indoor Cycling Instructor / NASM Personal Trainer I started my
athletic training at the age of 6 competing in swimming. I continue to compete as a US Masters swimmer. Swimming led me into triathlon,
and ultimately to Ironman. My goal is to qualify for the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. I have successfully trained athletes, guided newcomers from their first run to the marathon finish line and have helped “would be” triathletes become triathletes. I have been teaching indoor cycling at the Hollywood/Wilshire YMCA for many years and thrilled to come closer to home at the Burbank YMCA. I am a graduate of Towson University in Towson, MD, and passionate about helping others live a healthier, happier, and more fit life.
