Quick Start Guide: TELUS Business Connect™

Quick Start Guide
TELUS Business Connect
™
Let’s get started
This document outlines steps to help guide Administrators and users through account registration
and configuration of the new TELUS Business Connect™ solution, an integrated office and mobile
communication solution designed to help you never miss a call.
Administrative Account Registration
My Account
The first step is for Administrators to register their account, as the TELUS “My Account” service is required
for online management of the solution. This enables a view of the bill and monthly usage, and the ability to
add services and access Business Connect Voice Manager, to manage business communication related
features and services.
TELUS will send the Business Connect IP phone number and steps to follow to the email address listed for
the Administrator in the service agreement. Note that other product emails from TELUS can be set aside until
registration is complete.
The
two emails required for new “My Account” registration will be sent within a few days of the
account being activated. If you have previously registered, you will only receive the second email.
New
users receive the email “TELUS My Account Registration” sent by TELUS. Clicking on the green
button streamlines the process by accessing the business information on file. Enter the Business
Connect IP phone number provided when prompted for your TELUS phone number.
The second email “Business Connect Web Registration,” sent by TELUS, enables new
and existing registrants to log into My Account.
Account Overview
Logging in brings you to the Account Overview section.
Click
“Set up and manage Voice Manager” in the Business Connect box to access
and manage your Business Connect features.
Implementation and Configuration
The final step involves setup of your Business Connect login credentials and configuration of your solution.
The login credentials are separate from My Account credentials, and should be saved as they are used again
for the desktop and smartphone apps.
Choose between two options to setup your solution: Assisted Setup or Express Setup.
Assisted
Setup: A Business Connect Advisor will call you to schedule several implementation calls.
This complimentary service will help you setup your solution and ensure 911 service is configured correctly.
This includes users and personal greetings, creation of profiles and departments, assignment of extensions,
and determination of call routing options.
Express
Setup: Alternatively, you can use Express Setup, available through Business Connect Voice
Manager, to setup your services on your own. Express Setup begins after implementation and guides you
through the process of setting up your new solution.
User Registration Triggers
Important:
If you chose to skip Express Setup, choosing “Complete setup” or “No thanks” triggers
an email to the users on your account to begin their web registration.
Completion
of Express Setup also triggers an email to individual users on the account, notifying
the users that they will need to register.
The
“Remind me later” option does not trigger an email, and effectively places the users on hold.
User Registration
My Account
Once the Administrator on the account registers using the steps above, TELUS will send the Business
Connect IP phone numbers and instructions to the email listed for the user(s) within the service agreement.
The email should arrive when the Administrator completes or declines Express Setup. Note that other
product emails from TELUS can be set aside until registration is complete.
The following steps are required as part of user registration.
Users
receive the email “Welcome to TELUS Business Connect™” sent by TELUS. Clicking
on the green button streamlines the process by accessing the business information on file.
Enter
the Business Connect IP phone number provided in the email when prompted for your
TELUS phone number.
Important
If the phone number is missing from the provided email, or the one provided does not
allow you to proceed, ask the administrator to confirm the phone number. The Administrator
can check Users within the Business Connect Voice Manager to confirm the IP phone number.
