Australian Corps Memorial at Le Hamel
The Battle of Le Hamel, 4 July 1918, was a
successful attack launched by the Australians
against German positions in and around the town
of Le Hamel in northern France, on the Western
Front in WWI. French Prime Minister, Georges
Clemenceau, made a special trip to meet the
victorious Australian troops and addressing them
in English: “When the Australian Army came to
France, the French people expected a great deal of
you … We knew that you would fight a real fight,
but we did not know that from the beginning you
would astonish the whole continent … I shall go
back tomorrow and say to my countrymen: ‘I have
seen the Australians. I have looked into their faces. I
know that these men … will fight alongside us again
until the cause for which we are all fighting is safe
for us and our children.”
We understand that people feel the most
comfortable and relaxed at home, and families
like to know their loved ones are safe and happy.
RSL LifeCare provides the services that ensure
your choice to live at home can be fulfilled.
You may need a hand at home, be returning
home from hospital, or require support to get
out and about.
We are available 24 hours, seven days a week.
All members of the LifeCare @ Home team are
motivated people with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who
bring energy, enthusiasm and compassion to
the people they serve every day. Team members
participate in a detailed recruitment process
which includes background checks, reference
checks and ongoing supervision to ensure the
highest quality team of staff are on hand to
deliver quality care.
Carer consistency is also a service which
LifeCare @ Home clients enjoy. This means
that clients and their family members have the
opportunity to become familiar and comfortable
with their carer rather than experience the
confusion of new faces and names.
Just like family,
we tackle the
big things and
remember the
little things that
are important
to you.

Our History
RSL LifeCare is a charitable organisation
that was formed in 1911 to provide care
and service to war veterans. Services were
initially provided at Bare Island, Botany
Bay, until moving to Narrabeen in 1939.
From small beginnings providing care and
service to just a handful of war veterans,
the organisation has grown to be one of the
largest senior living services
in Australia.
Caring for 5,000 people across Independent
Living, Community Care, Assisted Living,
Dementia and Nursing Home, we have
developed an extensive range of services
that fosters independence and provides
social, clinical, emotional and spiritual
support.
