New York private equity firms, he was already entrenched in New York City life. But by the time his first
child arrived in 1990, his family was ready for a change of venue. “I had lived in the city for ten years [prior
to the move] and we thought it made sense to raise our children in a place with a lot more space and range
of activity,” he says.
