OUR EXPANDING CAMPUS ACADEMICS STEM Program HELP US BUILD OUR DREAM Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Program Recognizing the present and future national and international needs in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), SHA is initiating a STEM Program to promote strong women leaders who have an interest in these fields. • The U.S. Department of Labor has projected that, by 2014, the U.S. will have more than 2 million job openings in STEM fields. • Fewer than 15% of current U.S. college undergraduates are pursuing degrees in science or engineering, with women significantly underrepresented. The Many Ways to Support SHA Preparation for College and for Life Sacred Heart aspires to foster an environment that empowers, impassions and inspires women leaders through high spiritual and academic standards. A wide range of offerings in humanities, arts, sciences and technology provides a challenging and rigorous college preparatory curriculum to position students for success in college and beyond. ATHLETICS Effective spring 2013, Sacred Heart Academy will have a new “field to call home” and to celebrate its many NYS athletic championships. To date, Sacred Heart has invested more than $5 million in surrounding property acquisitions to facilitate campus expansion, which will feature: • a regulation athletic turf field • a 1/5 mile track • a relocated expanding parking facility PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT As part of this campaign, Sacred Heart will allocate funds for the continued professional development of faculty and staff so that Sacred Heart continues to attract young women with outstanding academic and leadership abilities.
