WYD 2016 LAUNCH + YOUNG ADULT WELCOME TO ARCHBISHOP
ANTHONY – 19 May
All young adults are invited to Sydney’s launch of World Youth Day
2016. This will also be the first time that our new Archbishop will be
present at an official Archdiocesan event for young adults so it is a great
opportunity to meet and welcome him. It will be a huge night of
celebration with Polish food, Polish dancing, information stalls, a
catechesis from the Archbishop and even a spot of fine Polish vodka!
Come and hear about the exciting pilgrimages that Sydney will be taking
in 2016 to the City of Mercy. The evening will be held at St Mary’s
Cathedral College Hall on Tuesday 19 May from 7.30pm. The
Archbishop will also be presiding at City Silence (the weekly young

"May Celebration in honour of Our Lady and to intercede for Peace in
the World and the Welfare of Australia will take place
in St. Mary's Cathedral on Saturday May 9th. Commencing at 11.30am

St Teresa of Avila 2: Bishop David Walker DD, Emeritus
Bishop of the Diocese of Broken Bay, will deliver
teachings on St Teresa of Avila. St Teresa, a Doctor of
the Church, has come to be recognised as one of the
great teachers of how to journey to God. Come and

Music Ministry Day
Catholic Youth Services invites together all young adults (18-35
years) involved in (or wanting to be involved in) parish music
ministry to celebrate and build on their talents and gifts so as to
channel them back into our parishes for the glory of God! Join us
as Stephen Kirk (Catholic Song writer & producer), Stephen
Smith (Australian Sacred Music Association) and many others,
lead participants through the why, when, what and how of music
used within a church setting. Registrations close May 18, 2015

Silent Retreat
Amidst all the noise, God speaks to us in the silence of our
hearts. Join us for a silent retreat as we are led deeper in our
spiritual lives by Fr Joseph Chua, a Cistercian monk of the
Tarrawarra Abbey. Fr Joseph currently serves as the vocation
director and novice master of his community and has a deep
interest in helping others foster a contemplative spirituality in their
daily living.
The retreat will run from 6:30pm Friday 5 June and finish by
1:30pm Sunday 7 June. The retreat will be held at the beautiful

Applications are invited for the position of temporary part time Canteen
Manager for 12 hours per week.
We require an efficient, enthusiastic person to manage our College
Canteen two days per week. It is essential that you have experience in
the food industry.
You will be responsible for assisting with managing the volunteer roster,
menu preparation, ordering stock, preparing food, yearly stocktaking,
servicing and cleaning canteen equipment, operating the Flexischools
ordering system, balancing the daily takings and serving staff and
students. You will report to and work with the Business Manager in
relation to all aspects of the Canteen.
It is a requirement of employment that you undergo a Working with
Children check.

THE ANNUAL MAY PROCESSION IN HONOUR OF OUR LADY - WAVERLEY
COLLEGE
The Annual Procession in Honour of Our Lady will be held on Sunday, 3
May 2015 at 2.00 p.m. It will commence in the College grounds in Birrell
Street with seating available in the College Quadrangle. All Old Boys and
Friends of the College are invited to be part of this event and join the
Brothers, staff, students and parents in this act of devotion to the

This weekend is the CWF appeal which continues
to play an important role in providing social, pastoral,
advocacy and training programs through its 6
agencies. The CWF is your Catholic charity and we
