Anthony Basil Taylor was born in Ft. Worth, TX and
raised in Ponca City, OK. He studied for the
priesthood at St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana and
The Gregorian University in Rome. Later he earned
a PhD in Biblical Theology from Fordham University
in New York. He served as a priest in Oklahoma for
28 years, much of it in Hispanic ministry, but also
for 10 years was the founding pastor of St. Monica
Diocese of San Angelo

involvement with the parish of Santiago Atilan,
Guatemala, most recently promoting the cause of
canonization of Fr. Stanley Rother, an Oklahoman
who was martyred there in 1981. In 2008 he
became the bishop of the Catholic diocese of Little
Rock, which encompasses 128 churches and
140,000 Catholics throughout the state of Arkansas.
