Al recibir estos sacramentos pascuales, no sólo somos fortalecidos en nuestra relación con el Señor, sino también damos testimonio de que ¡Cristo ha resucitado! En verdad, ha resucitado! The frightened disciples thought they were seeing a ghost when the Risen Lord appeared. The Lord replied, “Touch me and see, because a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you can see I have.” Christ’s glorified body testified to the fact that he was alive and risen, and that his body was an important part of his resurrected nature. After showing them his hands and feet, the Lord asked for some food to show that he was truly risen from the dead. These very physical acts emphasize the importance of our bodies in our human nature. The Easter Season provides us 50 days to experience the greater impact of the truth of Christ’s resurrection so that we might believe and be his witnesses. The New Life we have as God’s sons and daughters is nurtured and cultivated concretely and physically through the sacraments Christ has given us:      Baptism – washes us of sin and imbues in us Divine Life Eucharist – feeds us with Christ’s Body & Blood Confirmation – seals us with the Power of the Holy Spirit Confession – pardons our sins and offenses Anointing of the Sick – heals and comforts us in our physical frailty  Marriage – unites husband & wife in the bond of marriage  Holy Orders – configures the man to Christ for service to Christ’s Church and to the world As we receive these paschal sacraments, we not only are strengthened in our relationship with the Lord, but also give witness that Christ is Risen! Truly, He is Risen! Participation in the Sacraments makes us witnesses that Christ redeems us entirely – soul and body.
