CHI SIAMO?
La
Noi dell’“associazione amici del Cammino di qui
passò Francesco” e Angela Seracchioli ideatrice del
primo cammino francescano in Italia: “Di qui passò
Francesco”, proponiamo questo progetto perché
sappiamo benissimo cosa voglia dire accogliere i
pellegrini, creare un’atmosfera di fraternità ed
amicizia, l’abbiamo fatto per 5 anni in un precedente
ostello: “La Perfetta Letizia” chiuso, non per nostra
volontà, e amatissimo dai pellegrini. Vogliamo
ricreare un luogo di pace e fratellanza qui, nella città
di Francesco.
…molto di più, un luogo di apertura e
abbraccio delle culture e delle
religioni del mondo. Lì accoglieremo,
condivideremo, faremo cultura…
perché dall’incontro si crea la Pace!

e accoglienze, non vi è un luogo dedicato a
chi vi giunge a piedi a cavallo o in bicicletta
e sono tantissimi e da tutto il mondo e se
ne sente una forte esigenza!

La Ruah, located in a valley below
the Basilica of St. Francis, is a
centuries-old mill, constructed of
stone. Already restored, the 450
square meter house sits on two
acres (hectares?) of land with
gardens, olive trees and a grape
orchard. It will provide an ideal
site for pilgrims to base their
exploration of Assisi and the life
of St. Francis.

to Assisi
Assisi attracts visitors from all over the world.
They come for the art, the churches, piazzas and
ancient buildings, and to enjoy the food and
wine of the surrounding countryside. Many
others make the trip as pilgrims. They may travel
by car, train, on foot or bicycle, but want
something more than the usual tourist. Pilgrims
seek an encounter with the spirit of St. Francis, to
experience his message of brotherhood and
peace. Whatever the pace, whatever the means
of transport, pilgrims are on a voyage that is as
important as the destination. The journey
transforms and enriches both the destination
and the traveler.

La
The proponents of this project are Angela Serrachioli
and the Association Friends of the Here Passed St.
Francis Walk ( Amici del Cammino Di Qui’ Passo’
Francesco.) This trail, which Angela created and
describes in her book, in English: “On the road with
saint Francis” Terre di Mezzo Editore, was the first
Franciscan walk in Italy. For five years, she and the
Amici ran a hostel in Assisi, “La Perfetta Letizia.” It
closed four year ago, but its spirit lives on among the
many who were hosted in that special place.
THE HOSTEL AND...
WHY?
WHERE?
Assisi, visited by pilgrims from all over the
world, lacks a place to stay that is
dedicated to their vision and needs. La
Ruah will fill this need, not merely as a
place to sleep, but as a center of
spirituality, celebration and openness to all
cultures. Guests, and others, will be able
to enjoy concerts, performances as well as
prayer. Through these activities, with
others or in the solitude of private
meditation, we will help create more
peace in the world.
