Competition for both Junior and Senior Chef will take place at the same time with the same rules
but will be judged separately with each category having their own winner.

Open to All – R300 per entry (NO assistant, need to work solo)
Must be baked from scratch during competition.
Must be edible
60% of decoration may be pre-made but needs to be assembled during competition.
No limitation to creativity
Minimum size of 300mm in Length, 300mm in Width and 300mm in Height. (at least 2
measurements needed)

Open to All – R300 per entry (Assistant allowed)
Sugar related in any category of “sweet” and any combination – cake, confectionery, chocolate, etc
no limitation to creativity
Does NOT need to be edible
60% of decorations may be pre-made but needs to be assembled during competition.
Must be free standing
Maximum size of 1m in Length, 1m in Width and 1m in Height (or within this size)
Minimum size of 200mm in Length, 200mm in Width and 200mm in Height. (at least 2

Registration fee of R200- R300 per entry will be charged for all approved and accepted applicants to all competitions.

Normal Payment Terms: A non refundable amount of R200/R300 is required and must be submitted with acceptance after been approved by
organizers. Please note Full Payment is required for a confirmed space in any competition. Entry into any competition area will be denied if
payments are outstanding. The deadline for any outstanding payments for competitions is a month before Expo except for Celebrity most
amazing sweet competition due to selection and training.

This Signed Application will hold as a legal and binding document once approved by SA Sweet & Snack Expo®. All applications will be
notified by email, Winners will receive a certificate and prizes to be announced. (one winner per competition).

Rules for all competitions;
1. All competitions overall inspired theme for 2015 is “The road with Ginger”
2. All approved applicants will provide all own ingredients, tools, equipment and anything needed during competition, including water.
3. All competitions start precisely on time as stated per competition.
4. Only approved competitors may compete in any given competition.
5. Must complete “sweet” within the time limit stated per competition.
6. “Sweet” must be made according to above stipulations.
7. All competitions end product must be according to above stipulations.
8. Organizers get all rights to take photos during competition and of end product to be used freely for publication in any way they see
fit.
9. All competitors will conduct in a professional and civilized manner during the competition.
10. Responsible for clean-up, clearing of all personal tools, appliances etc immediately once finished.
11. Competitor will abide by all rules of each competition.
12. All competitors will wear chefs clothing or full aprons during competition, displaying chef or competitor name, company brand
name if applicable.
13. All approved competitors will provide the organizers with full colour logo in 300 dpi 250px x 300px, name and title of competitor
and of assistant where applicable for printing reasons.
14. No late arrivals on the day of the competition will be allowed to part take and will be eliminated immediately.
Assistance during the competitions;
1. The Most Amazing Sugar Art Competition, The most Amazing Cake Competition and the Most Amazing Chocolate Competition
may have an assistant during the competition.
a. The assistant will be dressed in the proper way (chefs clothing and have a name badge)
2. The Most Amazing Ginger Bake Competition, Most Amazing Gingerbread man Competition and The Most Amazing Cupcake
Competition will work solo during the competition.
All rules subject to change with notification to all participants.
All competitions will be judged on;
1. Creativity
2. Originality
3. Skill
4. Craftsmanship
5. Display
6. Taste (where appropriate)
Judges to be announced two weeks prior to event.
