about us
philosophy
We are Branger_Briz. We are artists, educators
and programmers bent on articulating our
digital landscape by creating breakthrough
interactive projects for our clients (and
ourselves). We believe contemporary culture
means digital culture; they are inextricably
connected.
We’re driven by a desire to share our digital
literacies, so our work tends to be public-facing
and consistently finds a way to leverage newmedia. We specialize in producing custom
projects from concept to design, through
development to launch and sharing/
propagating.
firm background
Our history dates back to 1998, where we transitioned from a
more traditional marketing firm called The Alten Group to our
currently digital technology-focused existence as Branger_Briz.
Between 2009 and 2014, we have grown from a 5 person
operation to 14 (with continued growth).

Project: Conceived, Designed and Developed a learning tool
that uses a GUI (Graphical User Interface) to facilitate
learning of the popular Three.js code library. The tool

Thus allowing users to see the code being generated on
screen as they make changes to their 3D object through the
GUI.

ideation
our approach to ideation
There’s no formula for making work compelling,
but as artists producing/developing user-facing
and interactive projects, we always begin by
asking ourselves (and oftentimes our clients) the
questions “what problem are we trying to solve
for the end user?” and “how do we improve that
for them?”. We believe compelling design
(visual, interaction and and UX) solves a problem
you often didn’t even know existed. We find that
understanding of the user and the context of
their behavior then helps us identify and develop
new and emerging themes.
We refer to our approach as “articulating”
contemporary themes/ideas. For us, articulation
breaks down into two key ideas. First, we seek to
understand contemporary themes, ideas and
technologies to the point where we can
articulate them to others in easily relatable
language (read: non-tech speak). A handful of
our core team members are also part time
University educators well-practiced in the art of
instruction and education. Second, we articulate
by further developing and innovating on a preexisting concept. The ongoing Research &
Development efforts of our leadership team
(previously identified as integral to Ramon, Paul
and Nick’s roles) are key to that process.
our approach to ideation
We believe ideas emerge in the shape of both ‘large’
and ‘small’ innovation consisting of variations or
combinations of pre-existing ideas. Our innovations
are driven by our consistently researching, studying
and experimenting with the latest technologies,
practices and frameworks (both conceptual and
technical). The R&D work we do internally may
sometimes find their way out into the world as
personal projects (see “Charge for Privacy” or “threejs
playGnd” listed in previous examples), but it
consistently finds its way into our client projects.
To summarize, our approach and high-level process to
create compelling work can be described as follows.
More specific process for Project Management will be
described in subsequent section.
1. Assess and diagnose
(a user or contextual problem to improve)
2. R&D
(this is ongoing)
3. Articulation
(of ideas to client and collaborators)
4. Alignment
(with client on idea)
5. Creation
(engage team and identify external
partners, if needed)
communication
our approach to project management
Good communication is the most important part
of any relationship (just ask your significant
other). Natalie, our Account Manager, will act as
the day-to-day, key point of contact for client
projects. She will work directly with the client
team to understand needs, define objectives
and assess scope of work.
Job orders and conference reports will also
formally ensure that the work performed is to
your and our standards and expectations.
Additionally, anything that is released to the
public will always be verified by our account
team, studio team and the client (and their
Legal team) to ensure accuracy.
We believe in open, brief, proactive and
consistent communication, and will manage
communication through scheduled phone calls/
progress meetings, timelines, and status reports.
More specifically, our process will work as follows:
our approach to project management
Project Definition:
A. A project brief is requested from the client that details the requirements for the project
(deliverables), any target demographic information (if available), objectives desired, how success
will be measured, requested launch dates and what single most important consumer call to action
should be detailed.
B. A kick-off meeting, either in person or via conference call, will be scheduled to discuss the project
brief.
C. A creative brief, as well as a detailed project timeline to develop identified deliverables will be
created by Branger_Briz to be approved by the client.
Strategy and Concept Development
A. We will begin our work by performing research (as necessary) to ground our strategy in consumer/
user insights. At that point the strategy/concept will be developed and presented for approval.
B. Revisions are made as necessary until final approval is achieved. Once the concept/direction is
determined, the project moves in to production.
our approach to project management
Execution/Production:
A. We commence production by first defining technical documents, final scope, wireframes as
necessary; these will all be approved by the client.
B. Design and development, depending on the scope of work.
A. Ongoing Communication: During the development, weekly status updates keep our clients
informed on progress and allow for adjustments, as needed.
Measurement/Assessment:
A. Once the project is launched, we will track and monitor to ensure that performance objectives are
being achieved.
