Our school uses these results to modify our teaching and target the learning on what each student needs to be successful. I thank families for your support in preparing the students and getting them to school on time and in good shape for NAPLAN. Mrs Waldron’s organisation of the testing was exemplary. We are aiming to increase our capacity for digital pushes of information to families following the experience of the East Coast Low event on May 01. Accurate information is vital at all times, and email is another way that we can enhance timely communication with parents. This term’s P&C’s Subway Meal Day is on Wednesday 26 May. This innovative group program is designed to help parents manage their child’s illness, assist children in coping with their illness and emotions, and prevent and manage difficult child behaviour. Over the next few months and for a limited time only, parents of 2-10 year old children with type 1 diabetes are able to access Positive Parenting for Healthy Living Triple P as part of a University of Queensland research project. Parents will be able to attend the program free of charge, and will be asked to complete 2 sets of assessment measures (questionnaire and family observation) over a 6 month period, as part of the study.
