Summit Up May 15, 2015 “Partnering with parents to offer a challenging biblically-based education resulting in students who are motivated to confidently impact their world for Christ.” A Note From the Principal’s Office: As early enrollment ends, we are so excited to see so many families re-enrolling and equally excited about all the new families God is bringing to our school. God is up to something amazing here at SCA and I’m excited to be a part of it. Craig’s List? Monster? Jobs.com? ACSI? When most organizations need employees they seek them out via one of these avenues. We’ve done none of these and have been amazed at how many quality applicants God has brought to us. We have far more applicants than positions. Some great prospects will have to be turned away. God brought us an amazing woman to fill our HS science position. She’s a graduate of Clearwater Christian College with a pre-med major. She plans to pursue post graduate work in education. She’s taught in both Christian and public schools, but knows God wants her in a Christian school like SCA. She loves science and chose to take more advanced classes like cell biology, biochemistry and genetics. Our new Kindergarten teacher is a graduate of BBC (SUP) with a degree in Early Education. Her passion for teaching and love for young children was contagious at her interviews. She’s also taught in both Christian and public schools and also stated that God’s will for her is to teach in a school that allows her to share her faith with her students. I’ve had personal oversight over her in Awana for two years. Before I ever had a clue that God would call me to be the Administrator, I told her how impressed I was with how she handled specifically the Kindergarteners on our team. I told her if she ever needed a letter of recommendation, I would be happy to do so. Ironically, she doesn’t need my letter now. We also have made a job offer to a wonderful woman to teach 2nd and/or 1st grade. We’re simply waiting on her to sign her contract. More important than anything else, these are all godly women who have a personal relationship with Christ and want to share that with their students as they seek to mentor them and invest in their lives. Many people tend to limit God and what He can do. Complaining is an expression of unbelief in God and His sovereignty in our lives. Thanks to Terry Michael for sharing this truth from God’s Word. Next week, Reid Anderson from Rock Mountain Bible Camp will be here to share. We were notified this week that Matthew Earle received a college scholarship from the Scranton Area Foundation. The HS office receives lots of information on scholarships and from various colleges. We are here to help our students succeed even after graduation. Even though not every student may qualify, we always make sure we get every scholarship opportunity in their hands. Matt has been a quiet leader at SCA and I’m excited to see Matt benefit from this. Please call, text, email or stop in with questions anytime. Perennial Flower Group: SCA is always looking for ways to make our campus more beautiful. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Ferraro for donating the beautiful flowers that are in the pots at the front of each building. As you begin to work in your garden, if you notice that you have perennials that are taking over and it’s time to split them, we would love to take them off of your hands. They will be put to good use on our campus.
