KHS-FFA the Dirty Truth—1st Place State Winners
On March 27, the KHS FFA Land Judging Team won the State contest which was held at the Dixie Plantation near
Greenville, Florida. Land Judging is an
exciting 4-H and FFA competition in
which Middle and High School students
observe and interpret the soil in order to
make wise land use decisions. Our team
members included: Alexander Yelvington (state high individual), Emmett Lee (3rd
highest individual), Canyon Albright and
Jacob Yelvington. Alternates were Dylan
Jackson and Amanda Lawson. Brevyn Forman was their student coach, who is the
former state champion and national runner
up team member. Next, the team will compete in the National Land and Homesite

contest which will be held in Oklahoma. “We are so very proud of these students and know they will be great at Nationals,” said Ms. Hall.

Spend Tuesday and Thursday with FCA
FCA weekly huddle meetings Thursday mornings 6:25 am in the
Choice Room. Tuesday FCA host Open Gym at 6:25 am.
All students are welcome to come enjoy music, basketball, fellowship, and prayer. Only students with athletic shoes are allowed to play basketball.

Sports Medicine Academy will
be hosting a Blood Drive on
May 1. One Blood will be on
campus April 29-30 during both
lunches for students to sign up.
Students, ages 16 and up, will be
able to sign up, but must have their
parent/guardian sign a permission
slip in order to participate. The
blood buses will park in front of
the auditorium. Those who donate
will be receive a t-shirt and snacks.

On April 9-11, 2015, our KHS Latin Club participated in the
State Latin Forum with 1072 other Latin students from around
the state. Congratulations to the following students for their
achievements in different areas of competition. Anthony Beckford placed 11th in Latin Sight Reading, 12th in Customs I, and
14th in Derivatives I; Samantha Brandt placed 15th in Grammar
I, 17th in Vocabulary I; James Mathieu placed 16th in Mythology I, and 18th in Vocabulary I. Way to go KHS Latin students.
