Clean and Simple Design
Our Serafina Firepit Kit is neat in appearance, solid in construction, and
easy to build. There is no guesswork! The tapered shape of our Serafina
Firepit Kit units provides the perfect fit. Simply stack the Serafina Wall
stones to 16 ”high (4 courses of block) and insert the metal fire-ring insert
into the opening - the top of the ring forms a clean edge and a heavy
gauge flange secures the ring within the wall stones.
Serafina Firepit Kit
Each kit contains sixty (60) pieces of Serafina Wall and one steel ring
31” diameter x 8” deep with double grates. Grates flip up easily to
access the area for burning logs or charcoal. Fully constructed firepits
are 16”high (4 courses of block) x 49” outside diameter. Use additional
pieces of Serafina Wall to build a taller firepit or to create extension walls
from the unit.
Multi-Position Cooking Grate
The ring has 2 heavy steel cooking grates that can be oriented in 3
positions - cantilevered over the fire for cooking and safety, or slid back
away from the fire, or tilted up and away from the fire. The solid steel
grates and ring weigh 67 lbs and provide 500 sq. in. of cooking area.
Enjoy with Fire Safety Sense!
Sitting around a cozy, crackling fire is one of the more enjoyable
moments in life, to relax in quiet thought or casual conversation. Keep
it that way by following “fire safety sense!” Build only small, controllable
fires. While Serafina Firepit Kit units do not burn and provide high
resistance to heat, concrete can spall if exposed to an intense fire.
Never use gasoline to ignite the wood. Always attend the fire and have
a hose nearby in case it needs to be doused quickly. Make sure the fire
is completely out prior to leaving the area and have it covered with the
grate or screen when left unattended.
**Never leave children unsupervised around an open flame or
hot embers.**

Installation
Before you begin, check the building code in your area or
with your local fire department. There may be restrictions
on open fires or requirements as to where you can place
the firepit in relation to your house or other structures.
The firepit should sit on a firm, non-combustible base,
such as compacted gravel or RCA.
If installing the firepit within an area consisting of paving
stones, it is acceptable for the firepit to be installed on the
compacted granular base. Paving stones should be cut
flush to the face of the firepit, allowing for proper drainage
into the compacted granular base rather than the
surrounding paving stones.
Choose from any of Nicolock’s Circle Kits to create a
beautiful and elegant accent beyond the firepit.
Place the units together to form a tight circle with an
inside diameter of 31". Level and check for position.
Position the second course by offsetting the joints from
the block in the row below. For a uniform diameter,
ensure the interior and exterior faces of the wall stone are
plumb. Repeat this for the remaining courses until you
have reached the desired height.
Insert the fire-ring into the wall stone center and be sure
that all stones fit tightly around the fire-ring. You may
need to chisel some of the rock face on the inside of the
top course to fit the ring properly. Fill the fire pit with a
graded stone or sand to the bottom of the inside flange.
Reposition stones if needed.
