INVITATION TO BID
The Scott County Board of Supervisors will be accepting sealed bids for the purchase of one
new model complete Ford 150 XL - ONE-HALF TON PICKUP TRUCK, EXTENDED CAB,
SHORT BED, 4X4. Delivery of unit shall be within 90 days of award of bid, to Gate City,
Virginia 24251. Financial arrangement options shall be as follows: Total purchase price.
Please list any additional charges (including delivery). Scott County will issue a Virginia Tax
Exemption Certificate upon award of bid.
Bid must include a copy of any agreements and warranties for the item being bid. Any
deviation(s) from the specifications must be noted on a separate sheet attached to your bid.
Specifications are available at the Scott County Administrator's Office, 336 Water Street, Gate
City, Virginia 24251. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2015, in
the Scott County Board Room at the Scott County Administrator’s Office, 336 Water Street,
Gate City, VA 24251 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids are to be
typed or hand written in a sealed envelope marked "1/2 Ton Truck Bid." No electronic media
responses will be accepted. Bids must be signed in ink by an official authorized to bind the
vendor. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted on this invitation, to
accept any bid which meets the specifications herein stated, and to waive any formality or
technicality in any bid in the best interest of the County.
Award of bid shall be in accordance with the Virginia Public Procurement Act and the Scott
County Public Procurement Ordinance. Attention of prospective bidders is called to Va. Code
Section 2.2-4315 concerning use of brand names.
Silence of Specifications: The apparent silence of this specification and any supplemental
specification as to any details or the omission from it of a detailed description concerning any
point shall be regarded as meaning that only the best commercial practices are to prevail and
that only materials of first quality and correct type, size and design are to be used. All
workmanship is to be first quality. All interpretations of this specification shall be made upon
the basis of this statement.

1. GVWR: 6000 lbs minimum, not to exceed 7350 lbs maximum
2. Wheelbase: 140.0" minimum
3. Engine: Eight (8) Cylinder, Flexible Fuel Engine
4. Axle/Springs/Frame: As required for vehicle GVWR
5. Transmission: Automatic Transmission
6. Cooling: Auxiliary air to oil transmission cooler as available from the manufacturer or dealer
7. Steering: Power steering, adjustable tilt-wheel
8. Brake System: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
9. Restraint system: Front driver and front passenger air bags required

be properly balanced.

provide vehicle key codes.
