Parents and Carers
The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy
[NAPLAN] has concluded today. It is pleasing to note that
students were in their best behaviour and have all tried to
complete the tests to the best of their ability. NAPLAN
results will be released later in the year and parents will
receive a report on their students’ performance.
Job Vacancy
The Twilight Markets, organised by the P&C, will be held at
the school on Saturday, 16 May from 1PM to 5PM. You will
have already received a flyer giving you information on the
various stalls. It will be lovely to see parents and carers
supporting this exciting event on the school calendar.
Last Saturday Hope Services hosted a pamper session for
mothers. Attendance at the session was incredible. All
mothers who attended the pamper session received a treat.
Thank you to the organisers for offering this to the
community!

News from 2C
Greetings from 2C!
We have started Term 2 full steam ahead! In Maths, we have
been learning about halves and quarters and counting in
3s. We are getting really good at it. In English we have been
looking at Stereotypes. We are really enjoying our Friendly
Schools Plus lessons. Our focus is about ‘feeling shy’.
We are looking forward to learning more about my feelings,
other people’s feelings and friendships.
From 2C, we hope you enjoy the rest of Term 2!
News from 6B
Wow! What a fabulous start to Term 2 in 6B! We have been
learning about subtracting and adding decimals, investigating
square and triangular numbers and using number lines to
calculate integers in Mathematics. In English we are learning
all about the world of advertising by studying still image
advertisements and multimodal advertisements. We have
just begun creating our own multimodal advertisement using
Photo Story on the computers. Now, moving onto Science.
Science has been really interesting. We have been learning
about different kinds of energy and how we use this energy
within our school and homes. Our expert Science group has
been auditing appliances around the school. Now for the
exciting news! Starting from next week, we will be venturing
to Deception Bay High School to begin our transition days.
We have a LOTE transition and a general transition day
coming up. 6B has been a great class to work in and we are a
very cooperative team. We love celebrating each other’s
successes. Time to get back to class and learn more fun and
interesting things. Bye for now!
