This program provides an update on OSHA compliance, standards and industry best practices and will allow instructors to continue to conduct OSHA 10 & 30 hour outreach training. Students will participate in the development and delivery of presentations covering general industry safety topics during class. Students will receive an instructor card and certificate from the Midwest OSHA Education Center. Outreach instructors are required to attend an OSHA 503 course once every four years to maintain their instructor status and participants must provide a copy of their current card at registration. Cost includes course materials and most current edition of the 1910 regulations manual. Participants should bring a laptop computer. If you do not have a laptop available for your use, please let us know in advance and we will try to accommodate your needs. Bryan Doty • Director of Program Developement & Training • Iowa-Illinois Safety Council Bryan has been involved in manufacturing for nearly 20 years, serving on safety teams and safety committees for 15 years and 5 years as a safety coordinator for a window manufacturer. He has 3 years experience in the construction industry as a safety manager/consultant. Bryan is an authorized OSHA Training Institute Outreach Trainer for General Industry and Construction. Bryan also has authorization through the Midwest OSHA Education Center to instruct the OSHA 500, 501, 502, 503, 510 and 511. He has the National Safety Council Advanced Safety Certificate and holds a certificate in Industrial Ergonomics. Bryan is an instructor for the National Safety Council 4 Hour Defensive Driving and instructor development courses as well as the National Safety Council First Aid, CPR, AED and BBP courses for adult, pediatric and instructor development. His experience and diverse background gives Bryan the ability to serve in the field as well as the classroom to help bring solutions to safety problems. Jim Silvers • Trainer/Consultant • Iowa-Illinois Safety Council Jim is identifiably qualified as an occupational safety and health trainer by several years of experience. He has 19 years of manufacturing experience, 4.5 years in the chemical industry. He also has 10 years of conducting on-site inspections across the country. Jim has an extensive background and knowledge in OSHA compliance and is an authorized Outreach instructor for OSHA 10 Hour, 30 Hour. Jim’s experience also extends into Industrial Hygiene, HAZWOPER, and Medical Team training.
