Mom always said her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother. We all say job well done. Mom taught us to always have an open heart, for if you have an open heart you always can love and forgive. Money never mattered; it was the time spent with the ones you loved. Education was extremely important to Mom and to see her granddaughter follow in her footsteps as a teacher gave Mom great joy. Mom always believed in paying it forward, and per her request, she has asked that in lieu of flowers or donations please pay it forward as each sees fit. He was the third of six children born to Samuel M and Inga (Hemming) Pendill. He lost his mother due to illness when he was only 7. SAM PENDILL He went to school through the eighth grade, at which time he decided to stay home and help on the family farm. He was always an honest, fair, hard-working man. In the meantime, he had his small herd he pastured out and worked with on the weekends. Sam’s dream became a reality after most of his children were grown and gone. He and Margaret were able to buy a farm near Garryowen, where they would spend the rest of their lives. He was always happiest when he was working with the livestock. Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, who was taken from him suddenly in 2004, and his son Ronnie, whom he lost to cancer.
