Welcome to IHNA College of Health and Nursing E- Learning Guide. We have tried to make this
guide easy and user friendly so that you may have a good experience of accessing your course
modules through e-learning. Please go through this guide step by step before you use elearning.
Minimum System Requirements
Technical requirements: Minimum hardware requirements are:
 Computer with, 300MHz processor
 128MB of SDRAM
 Microsoft® Windows® 98, 2000 or XP
 800 x 600 display (1024 x 768 recommended)
 4 Gb hard disk
 CD ROM drive
 Sound card and speakers (or headphones)
 28.8k or higher modem
Or Macintosh equivalent.

Go to www.ihna.edu.au and click on Student Login from the My IHNA menu item.
Login Page:
Put your user name [usually your email address] and the password here.

ASSEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
Course delivery
The course information, the entry requirements and the course rules are the same as that of
the on-campus or teacher led class room delivery (face-to-face) for the theory component of
the course. Students can complete the theory component of the course in e learning at their
own pace and should complete within a maximum period of 6months including professional
experience placement.
Assessment strategies
E learning Assessment strategies are used to find the progress of the student in the process and
to evaluate the student as competent. Therefore students are assessed in both formative and
summative way.
Formative assessments
There is facility for the educator to monitor the progress of the student through the e-learning
platform. Thus the students are assessed for their progress formatively. Formative assessment
includes student participation in computer conferencing.
Summative assessment
Summative assessments are different for each module which is summarized in the student
information booklet.

Referencing
All major contentions to be supported by references and all sources consistently cited
throughout the written task. Name, dates and page numbers (where appropriate) are
referenced correctly. All references in the text appear on the reference page, and vice versa.
The reference page adheres to the Harvard style. Evidence of a wide research of scholarly
journals and current literature (at least 7 different references presenting substantive
information cited excluding the references derived from the internet).
Submission of assignment
Presentation:
Work should be typed, double spaced, and written in 12-point font size. Direct quotes and
citations are not counted in the word limit, nor are appendices or the reference list. Work
outside the prescribed word range may not be marked or may lose marks.
Online submission:
Do not submit the assignment as an attachment to e-mails. Your assignment should be
submitted electronically via IHNA E-learning platform. In terms of online assignment
submission, students must attach an online assignment coversheet and self-declaration with
each assignment for validation of student ID.
You will receive a confirmation message within two days’ time from the Institute once you have
successfully submitted your assignment.
Plagiarism:
Students are required to submit their own work for assessment. The presentation of someone
else’s work, words or ideas as one’s own is plagiarism and therefore unacceptable. Plagiarism
can be deliberate or accidental. Whenever students use the words or ideas of another person in
their work, they must acknowledge where it is originally taken from.
Various forms of plagiarism as follows:
Downloading or copying any materials/ideas or part of it from an online source and submitting
it as your own work with acknowledging.
Buying, stealing or borrowing any materials/ideas and submitting it as your own work.

Cheating:
Cheating can be defined as completing an assessment without a student’s own effort and
getting someone else to do the work. This is not an acceptable practice and will affect the
progression of the course.
Procedures for dealing with situations involving plagiarism and cheating will be according to
IHNA Plagiarism and Cheating Policy and Procedure
Invigilation processes for all assessment are based on IHNA Conduct of Examinations policy and Procedure.
Also,
all the students irrespective of the mode of delivery of the course are required to complete an
assessment cover sheet with self- declaration.IHNA utilizes plagiarism checker which checks the
submitted assignments, compares among student assignments and compares with a small
database from internet for plagiarism.
Support services for e-learning students
Support services offered by IHNA include: Orientation session
The learner opting for e learning is given an orientation to the e learning platform online
or onsite as per their preference and availability. Students are given a clear picture
about the course delivery and the assessment strategies followed in this course. Student
login details (login ID and Password) and an e-learning ‘How to do’ guide is given to
individual students. This also includes demonstration of e-learning login system and the
learning platform.
 Password and login name will be sent to students via email also.
 Email communications between teacher/trainer and the student about any concerns
regarding course, progress of student or outcome of the workbooks submitted.
 online access to student records and feedback to students
 For any course content support, students can contact their educator at [email protected]
and [email protected] for any technical support
In order to make sure the learners receive adequate support to complete the course and
assessments an e learning ‘How to do’ Guide will be given during orientation session.

Each conference contribution should not exceed beyond 200 words (excluding the
referencing).You may save your responses with out being send to the assessor or posted in the
conference platform. Make sure to submit the task once finalized before the closing date of the
conference.
The same is applicable for each module assignments submission as well, if to be submitted
online.
Section 4: Report section of E-Learning Platform:
An educator can access the report section of the IHNA E-learning platform to assess course
activity summary of a student in the platform.
IHNA uses Moodle platform as the Learning Management System and hence has all the
reporting facilities available for moodle. The Report page allows the teacher or administrator to
look at course/site logs and user activity reports. The displayed logs will show active links to
other parts of the course. These include the user's profile or a specific page in an activity or a
link to a resource.
Course Logs
Course logs show activity within the course. It allows tutors to see what resources are being
used and when. They can check to see if an individual student has viewed a specific resource or
participated on a specific activity on a specific day.
