How to Find Villetta Girasole by Car GENAZZANO (RM), Italy 1. From Fiumicino Airport Hire cars (autonoleggio) are found by following the signs across the bridge. You can use a lift with a trolley (€2) in Terminal 2, near snack bar, or walk your luggage using the escalators and walkways. One person could wait at the airport with the luggage whilst the other walks for the car, unless all members of the party are registering as drivers. Meet in front of arrivals.          From the airport follow green autostrada (motorway) signs for GRA towards ROMA. After accessing the GRA follow signs for autostrada A1 SOUTH towards NAPOLI (this is well signposted: the exit is also that for university TOR VEGATA and Romanina). Take the centre lane. On the A1 autostrada PICK UP A TICKET at the automatic toll. Travel south towards Napoli, beyond the Firenze turn-off to the exit to VALMONTONE (Genazzano is listed on the blue sign.) After the toll booths (currently €1.90, cash or credit card, indicated above the booth) turn right then straight on at the roundabout. Continue down the hill. You will bear RIGHT beyond the station where there is another sign to Genazzano. Turn right here and then left after 200 meters at the new traffic roundabout. Continue to follow the signs for Genazzano. 2. From Ciampino Airport Walk, or take the courtesy bus (usually silver with the car hire logos on the side) to the hire car office, which is found outside the airport towards the GRA and entrance to the airport by following the signs. One person could wait as above. If so meet up in the drop off/pick up point beyond the coaches and taxis, in front of the airport.     Follow signs for autostrada A1 SOUTH towards NAPOLI. After accessing the GRA follow signs for autostrada A1 SOUTH towards NAPOLI (this is well signposted: the exit is also that for university TOR VEGATA and Romanina). Take the centre lane. The Approach to Genazzano       From the Valmontone road turn left at the little chapel towards Genazzano (follow the sign) then, after 400 meters, right turn into the foot of the town. Drive 250 meters or so to the traffic lights. The town gate can be seen ahead. Turn right at the lights then, after about 20 meters, TAKE THE SECOND RIGHT on a very steep sharp right turn at Dino's photo shop (beyond Sebastianelli’s pizza takeaway). There is a small sign to ninfeo bramante opposite. On the LEFT past the ninfeo ruins and garages is Via C. Pavese. Drive almost to the top, 300-400 meters. Via C. Pavese has a steep incline and several bends. Drive up BEYOND the first lot of houses towards the top of the hill. (First time folks don't always go up far enough.) Villa Girasole is a yellow house on the right on the road (not down any tracks) with a brown roofed gateway with Villa Girasole/Mitchell on the round plaque on the gatepost. Beyond the house is a white triangle of land for parking after unloading at the gate.
