SEND YOUR
PICTURES TO
BEANO.COM
Want to send a picture to the Beano website?
You can do it electronically! It's quicker than posting, and it's a lot
easier on the poor postman's trousers when Gnasher's around!
Before you send your picture, you'll have to make sure the image's file size is
small enough - too big and it won't reach us at beano.com! It needs to be
less than one megabyte - that's megaBYTE, not Gnasher taking a
mega big bite out of postie's pants - 1mb or 1000kb.
CHECKING THE IMAGE SIZE - Go to where the image is saved on your computer - usually in the PC's
"Pictures" folder with the name you gave it when you saved it there.
- Click it with the right mouse button and select "properties"
from the menu that appears.
- About halfway down the pop-up box it should tell you the size of the image file.
It needs to be less than "1mb" or less than "1000kb".
TOO BIG? REDUCING THE SIZE 1) Change the image's width and height until they're both less than 500 pixels.
a. Finding the settings to change the size depends on what software you're using.
Usually it's under a menu called "Image" (in Windows Paint it's under "Image", then "Attributes")
or "Modify" and "Image Size".
b. Change the height to 500 pixels.
Most software will work out the best width for the image you've made.
c. Save the image with a new name - that way you'll still have your original picture!
2) If you can choose a file type, save the image as a "JPG". Usually this will be in the box
where you type the name of the file when saving it, but sometimes it's selected from a
drop-down menu. If there's somewhere to set the "quality" of the JPG, set it quite high around 80%, but less than 100%. Definitely not MORE THAN 100%, because that's impossible,
so you'd just be showing off!
If it's still too big you might need a grown-up to help find other ways to make it smaller.

- Fill in your details below
- Click the "Browse" button and then find your image file on your computer
- Select your image, then click "Open". This should pop the picture in the "Your Doodle" box
- When you've filled in all the form boxes, click the "SEND NOW!" button to send it
(there's a surprise, huh?)!
- If there are any problems the Doodle won't send - you should see a message telling you
what the problem is.
- Check the form for a message telling you if it was sent OK.
