Continuous Ink Supply System Installation For Canon ip4820 MG5220 MG5320 MX860 MX870 MX882 Mg6220 printer Caution: Please keep ink reservoirs on the same level as the printer. DO NOT put the ink reservoirs above the printer or on top of the printer. Please don’t wait until your original cartridges are empty before installing CISS. In case CISS has a problem you still have your original cartridges to fall back on. If you are not sure how to install this CISS, please contact us. You might need to prime the CISS (remove air from the ink tube), For how to prime the CISS, please go to our website: http://www.inkxpro.com Click “Knowledge Base” on the left side of the manual, then go to “HOW TO”, you will find some videos which show you how to prime the CISS. 1. Turn on the printer, open the lid, when the print head has moved to the cartridge removal position unplug the printer. This will allow you to move the print head manually later in the installation process. 2. Remove the Canon cartridges. Carefully place each silicon nozzle seal into position around each of the printer heads as shown. Make sure that seals do not move from position when inserting cartridges. These seals must not be interfering with the silver print head. Remove orange cartridge caps and install cartridges. After removing orange cartridge caps make sure to keep cartridges above the ink reservoirs and install cartridges quickly. Because ink may leak from the cartridges once the orange plugs are removed. Have some paper towels ready in case any ink drips. Now peel and attach bracket with the ink tube as pictures above showed. Move the cartridge to right side and left side; adjust the length of the tube. Over riding the lid switch. Look very closely on the right site towards the back; you will see where the lid switch is located. (The location of the lid switch might be different for some printers) We have supplied with a lid switch jumper, this must be installed in the printer for printer to work. It needs to fit snug. However, for some printer model like Mg5220, the switch jumper we provide might not fit, so you need to fold a piece of paper the lock the lid switch. Install the switch jumper on the right side as shown. This will stop the lid from closing too far. Feed the hose out of the printer and close down the lid. The lid will not be completed closed. Locate the small color plugs on the top of the 5 reservoirs. Remove all 5 plugs to allow the air to flow in the CISS. Install the filters by inserting the thicker side into each reservoir as pictured. Plug the printer in and turn it on. Then select maintenance and run one cleaning to charge up the CISS. Do a nozzle check to see that all the colors are printing. Cartridge ink level reset: The printer treats the CISS cartridge as original Canon cartridge, once it prints certain amount pages, it will show the “cartridge not recognized” message, which means you need to replace/reset the cartridge. You just open the printer lid, then remove the lid switch jumper, then re-install it; this process will reset the cartridge ink level.
