How to Activate a Windows 8 Licensed copy (MAK)

From Administrative Command Prompt (right click the lower left hand window)
C:\Windows\system32>SLMGR.VBS -IPK
(Product Key here)
C:\Windows\system32>SLMGR.VBS -ATO
(ENTER)
(ENTER)
You will now get a (Window) message from the Windows Script Host stating that the product is
activated.
You can now close the Command Prompt.
This is an example of the typical Volume Label of a licensed copy of Win 8 Pro
Volume Label: HRM_CPRA_X64FREV_EN_US_DV5

Volume Activation (MAK) is designed to provide a transparent activation experience for users.
If activation does not happen within the grace period provided (normally 30 days), the computer
transitions into what is known as “notification mode.” During notification mode the user will
see activation reminders during login, as well as notification in the Action Center.
