Do make sure you answer the questions thoroughly, as all the details requested are vital to the agency’s screening process. Can I apply for more than one position? You may certainly apply for more than one position if you feel your experience and competencies match the specifications. However, as you can imagine, marketing yourself to JWT with a unique set of skills and passion for a particular discipline is more focused than selling yourself across a broad selection of positions available. What do I do if you don’t specify a relevant position for me? We pride ourselves on having a corporate culture that people want to belong to, and many people build long-standing and successful careers in. This means we rarely have openings for every type of position at a given time, even though we are active in many markets. If you cannot see a position that your skills and career ambitions match perfectly, always keep an eye on our Facebook page, the careers portal and our website for any suitable vacancies. Where are JWT’s offices? Globally we have offices all over the world servicing our global, regional and local clients. In the Middle East and Africa our footprint is constantly expanding as we develop more opportunities in emerging markets and partner with clients who are doing the same. Eight major hubs help us provide efficient and streamlined services for our clients: the Levant, the Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, North Africa, South Africa, West Africa and East Africa. Within each of those hubs we have important teams working in separate markets handling key global, regional and local clients. Because our footprint is ever growing, it is best to check our JWT MEA profile on jwt.com, which encompasses information about all the different teams we have. I am an experienced, candidate, do I need to be an award winner to apply? Our priority is to provide communication-based business solutions for our clients that drive effective results and a significant ROI, and obviously if we do this in a world-class fashion, awards will follow. Pioneering creativity and strategic thinking is part and parcel of our success story, and for which we have won many awards. What we are looking for is excellence in strategic thinking, creative application, pioneering ideas with scale, collaboration and innovation. If you can demonstrate you have those qualities, we would love to hear from you. What languages are essential? The language of our clients and therefore our agency’s internal communications across the world is English – it is essential you can read, write and understand the English language. In our MEA markets, external communication for our clients will include (depending on the market) Arabic, French, Afrikaans and Swahili amongst others. The function you apply for may require a certain degree of skill in one or more of these languages. Please check the job posting carefully. Will I get the opportunity to move around the world? At JWT we believe in leveraging technology, to work in seamless teams that cut across geographical borders and agency practices. That may mean working in virtual teams with other talent in other offices on global or regional accounts. On other occasions, that may mean working in another office for a certain period of time. As you develop your career at JWT, opportunities will arise where it might be possible for you to move abroad with the company. Do you offer training? We fully believe in the importance of training and continuous development and offer different kinds of solutions to meet our peoples’ needs. Training for talent is based on the need to perfect existing skills or acquire new ones, based on evaluations. Some of the trainings are bespoke interactive sessions with live briefs from our clients, and we also use online tools to help our people develop. I was unsuccessful applying for a job before, may I apply again? We are sorry you were unsuccessful in applying for a job at JWT previously and hope you found an interesting position where you could learn and develop your skills in the meantime. Our recruitment process is highly competitive. This should not deter you from applying again – we would love to hear how you have progressed and now have the right caliber of expertise to fulfill the requirements of a given vacancy.
