1. Getting started
1.1
Following receipt of an activation code, go to www.sra.org.uk/activate.
Tip: If your activation code has expired, or to obtain a new activation code, please click
on 'Activation key lost' located at the following link www.sra.org.uk/mysra/activateaccount You will require your SRA ID number to request a new activation code.
You should receive a letter from the SRA containing a new activation code in five to
seven days. We are unable to provide an activation code by email.
1.2
Click activate your account now and enter your 11 digit activation
code exactly as it appears, including all hyphens.
1.3
Enter the reCAPTCHA words and press Submit. If the reCAPTCHA
words are not accepted you will see a message saying 'The
verification words are incorrect'. Please retry until successful.
Note: reCAPTCHA
The reCAPTCHA is a program that can tell whether the user is a human or a computer.
reCAPTCHAs are used by many websites to prevent abuse from automated programs
usually written to generate spam. No computer program can read distorted text as well
as humans can, so automated programs cannot navigate sites protected by
reCAPTCHAs.
The following may be useful if you have difficulties with reCAPTCHA:
 Enter the words you see in the box, in order and separated by a space
 If you are not sure what the words are, either enter your best guess or click the
reload button under the distorted words (please see circled in blue below). You
will then be presented with new distorted words.
 If you are still not sure what the words are, try enlarging your screen using the
zoom tool. (For most this will be situated in the bottom right-hand corner of the
screen)
 You can try clicking on the audio button, underneath reload, to hear a set of
words that can be entered instead of the visual challenge.
You can try entering reCAPTCHA as many times as you like. This will not affect your
activation or online account once activated.
An example of what reCAPTCHA looks like is shown below:
In the example above, you would need to type into the box: trieste modern-day .The
words are case-sensitive, but you do not need to enter them in Bold or Italics.
