How to share large files online in the MIS Portal
How to share large files online in the MIS Portal
Step 1 MIS Administrator grants website permissions to the staff or student
Step 2 Staff or student uploads the file and share the access URL
MIS Portal 1 (mis.eq.edu.au) allows staff or students to upload files then share the URL for others to access. Various permission levels can be set to ensure only
the right people view your documents.
All URLs to access documents stored online via the MIS Portal’s Content Upload feature have the below format (individual Access URLs are not displayed - you
will need to create it yourself):
http://resources.YourSchoolDomain.eq.edu.au/home/YourMISID/YourFileName
Things to note:
1. Files to be uploaded cannot have spaces or characters in the filename. For example, the file ‘Example_MIS Guide.doc’ should be renamed to
‘ExampleMISGuide.doc’ prior to uploading.
2. Filenames in the URL are case sensitive. For example, if the document title is ‘MIS.doc’, then
http://resources.exampleschool.eq.edu.au/home/examplemisid/mis.doc
will not work. The correct URL would be http://resources.exampleschool.eq.edu.au/home/examplemisid/MIS.doc.
3. Changing permission levels to access the URL may take up to an hour to take effect.
