Piano/Four-Hands
Garage Sale Gold & Appraisal
(N) Sunday, March 13, 2:00 p.m.
The Library is pleased to present a concert by
pianists Lucille Felsenthal and Jean Vandersall. Lucille
Felsenthal has performed at Lincoln Center with the
Long Island Symphony and The Little Orchestra Society. She is a frequent guest on WNYC and WQXR. Jean
Vandersall made her New York debut at Town Hall. She
frequently appears with chamber ensembles throughout Long Island. After achieving recognition in their
solo careers, Felsenthal and Vandersall combined their
talents to bring audiences the rich repertoire for fourhands piano. This afternoon’s concert will feature works
by Rossini, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Poulenc. Free
tickets are available March 1 in both library buildings.
(N) Wednesday, March 23, 7:30 p.m.
Everybody’s favorite appraiser is back! Eddie
Costello presents an exciting and entertaining look at
the modern day Gold Rush that has thousands of weekend prospectors digging through everyday items in other
people’s garages. Mr. Costello’s expertise is as essential
as a mule and a pick-axe to modern day prospectors
who want to learn how to pan out the gold nuggets from
the endless stream of garage sale junk.
The audience is welcome to bring one item for
appraisal. Numbered tickets for appraisals will be given
out at the door. All are welcome.
Long Island String Quartet
VOICES presents “Petits Fours”
(N) Sunday, March 6, 2:00 p.m.

Camus will perform pieces by Beethoven, Webern, and
Mendelssohn. The quartet has performed in such places

The ensemble will premiere a new work for baritone and
string quartet by Richard Brooks, professor emeritus and
former chairman of the music department of Nassau
Community College. All are welcome.
(N) Friday, March 4, 7:30 p.m.
VOICES’ previously advertised performance of
“A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” has been cancelled due to
a cast emergency and replaced by “Petits Fours,” a
salute to the short story. Join the talented VOICES ensemble as they present dramatic readings of four short
stories: “Enoch and the Gorilla” by Flannery O’Connor,
“The Last Leaf” by O. Henry, “In The Wood” by Guy de
Maupassant, and “The Mouse” by Saki. Free tickets are
