Description
Senior Instructor Certification
Friday & Saturday, February 10th & 11th,
2012 4:30-8:30 pm & 8:00-4:30 pm
The goal of this program is to provide a comprehensive yet practical approach of
facilitating an aging population. You will learn techniques to orient, modify, and
progress a clientele with a variety of medical or aging conditions. You will learn
specific exercise inventory for Muscular Endurance, Cardiovascular Conditioning,
Balance, Agility, Strength, Mobility, and Functional Fitness (appropriate to a senior
clientele). You will receive a diploma upon successful completion of the exam, a
web profile and certification status. The exam comprises a written (theory) and
practical component. CEC’s for 8.0 WaterART, ACE, AEA, YMCA, AFPA.
Programming for Common Medical
Conditions CEC Workshop
Saturday, February 11th, 2012
8:00-4:30 pm
Incorporate safe, effective and multi-level programming into one group exercise
program. Review a balanced program to train all components of fitness with the
appropriate exercise inventory of activities of daily living. Learn general guidelines
for helping clients with common medical conditions. Modify or progress exercise to
help people gain the most out of their program in a pain–free way. You will earn
CEC’s for 8.0 WaterART, ACE, AEA, YMCA, AFPA.
Re-Certification (includes Programming
for Common Medical Conditions CEC
Workshop ) Friday & Saturday, February
10th & 11th, 2012 4:30-8:30 pm & 8:004:30 pm
If it is time for you to renew then you may choose to attend the workshop for
continuing education hours to re-qualify your hours. When you have completed the
CEC hours, you will receive 2 years Certification upgrade, a new Certification
Diploma, wallet card, updated online profile & T-shirt. If you are late for renewing
there is an additional late fee applied.

Master Trainer
Terri Lees is the Aquatic Supervisor at the North Kansas City Community Center in North
Kansas City Missouri. She has a Masters degree in Physical Education from Emporia State
University has been professionally involved in Aquatics for the past 30 years. Terri is a trainer
for the American Red Cross Water Safety programs including lifeguarding, first aid and CPR.
She maintains current certificates in lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid,
Water Safety Instructor and Aquatic Fitness Instructor for her current job as the Aquatic

Supervisor because she never knows if she will need to switch gears and wear a different
hat. She swims masters for her own fitness and coaches a senior swimming team (50 +) at
the Community Center.
