How to make (HPGL/2) plot files from Autocad 13,14 for plotting at Triangle Reprographics (pens in file) 1. Select “File” - “Print” from the pulldown menu in Autocad. The Print / Plot Configuration dialog appears. 2. Select “Device/Default Selection” The Device / Default Selection dialog appears. 3. Select “Triangle HPGL/2”, then select “OK”. 4. Select “MM”, to switch to metric. 5. Select “Pen Assignments” The Pen Assignments dialog appears. 6. Choose pen width by entering the appropriate pen width for each Autocad color. Color drawn in Autocad. Solid, screen, or color# to plot. Weight to plot. 7. Choose pen color/pattern by entering the appropriate pen# for each Autocad color. (See below) Black solid = #7 Screened black = #252 Other colors = see Autocad color chart 8. Select “OK”. Example: Autocad color 1 is set to .18 / black. Autocad color 10 is set to .25 / screened. 9. Select “Inches”. 10. Select “what area to plot” under additional parameters. Note: “Window” is suggested. 11. Select “Window”. The Window Selection appears. 12. Select “Pick”. 13. Select “top/right intersection” and “bottom/left intersection” of trim marks. Then select “OK”. 14. Select “Size”. The Paper Size dialog appears. 15. Select appropriate sheet size. Hint: create sheet size 1” oversized. 16. Select “OK”. 17. Enter “Scale”. 18. Select “Preview”. Partial? or Full? Partial - to see dimensions of effective area. 19. Select “Plot to File”. 20. Select “File Name” Enter “Drive\Folder\Filename”. 21. Select “OK”. Full - to see if all of image is on page.
