From Hollywood to Home
Yes, OK, I admit…there was a time when I didn’t think it was possible to earn a living
doing what I loved.
When it came time to decide what I would pursue as a career after high school, I
felt it was the ‘safer option’ to study a Media and Communications degree, with a
minor in Journalism to make sure I could get a ‘regular job’ once I graduated.
Fortunately for me, REGULAR sort of doesn’t really describe me, or my ambitions!
And thank GOD for that because it’s brought me to where I am today.
But that’s why you’re here right?
Because somewhere deep down inside you, you believe you were
meant for greater things?
That you have a deeper purpose?
That you have so much awesomeness to share with others, that you
could really help them and change their lives for the better?
Well amen to that sister!
I don’t normally talk like an amazing-religious-woman-singer type, but holla. That
stuff’s got to be acknowledged right!
We’ve got to celebrate the fact that you’ve decided to step up and be seen and
share your amazing self with the world. Because, yo, that shit can be scary. (Sitting
down, moving on from that voice now…)
I’m here because I believe exactly that!
I believe that I’m here to do great things and that my purpose in life is to inspire
others to create a life that is aligned with their soul. Whatever that may look like.

From Hollywood to Home
I guess you could actually say that I’ve always been a writer actually. When I was
young, I thought I was going to be a hotel account (how off I was about that). But
that’s usually what happens. You look at your parents and think, well that’s what I’m
going to do.
That was before I got to know ME.
And ME, well I’m a writer. It’s inherent. It’s in my blood.
And the acting, well that just kind of emerged out of my love for telling stories,
watching films and playing characters.
After realizing that I WASN’T going to become a journo (after learning more about
media as an institution, I decided the news world wasn’t for me), I pursued my
passion of acting. I already had signed with my first agent at 18, I scored a role in
my first feature film at age 19 and by the time I was 23, I was pounding Hollywood
Boulevard bumping into the likes of Ryan Gosling (yes, this really happened).
I successfully scored myself US management. For those not familiar with the industry,
this is pretty impossible to do without a foot in the door. I didn’t have a foot, so I
MADE ONE. I even scored a meeting with the agent of one of the biggest actors of
our generation, from one of the TOP 5 AGENCIES in Hollywood.
Marketing myself all around town paid off and I was soon auditioning for Hollywood
feature films and hot new TV shows.
My time in LA was freaking awesome, I experienced some of the best times of my
life there! I had so many big soul epiphanies and I returned to my hometown a
different girl.
Yes, I loved films and acting. But I felt there was MORE.
I had more questions about my life. What did I really want to do?

From Hollywood to Home
When I took the time to really look at WHY I became an actress in the first place, for
one, it was to indulge my passion of becoming a different character and
entertaining audiences. But below the surface, I really wanted to prove that I could
do it. That pursuing my dream was worth it and so incredibly fulfilling that I wanted
to inspire everyone who had a dream, to live that dream.
Then it clicked.
My purpose was to inspire others to be their best selves and live their best lives.
All of my creative pursuits come back to that core purpose. Creating opportunities
for myself to earn a living doing what I love comes out naturally in me purely from
refusing to settle for the status quo.
Once I realized that there was another way, I embraced this and ran with it! Life is
always what you make of it. You can create it any way you like!
So I continued writing; my own screenplays, my own blog and for websites that
inspire the soul, which eventuated into writing my first e-books Feed Your Soul and
Eat Beautiful.
Eat Beautiful felt like it needed a platform of its own so I created the online
community and website eatbeautiful.com.au as a natural progression of the original
e-book. And it now functions as a hub for practitioners and health enthusiasts alike,
and creates an opportunity for the entrepreneurs to be seen and reach their
audience.
Plus, my production company PMU Productions, which I had set up a few years
earlier to produce my own work, had evolved to produce videos for other business
owners and entrepreneurs. We also began hiring out filming crew to the Media
Entertainment and Arts Alliance to assist in the professional development of actors’
workshops.
Low and behold, I had launched my first businesses without even really realizing it.
They all began as a genuine desire to help others.

Conscious Business
There comes a time though, that you do realise, hey, there are people out there
that want what I have to offer! AND I can do what I love and earn a living from
doing that! FABULOUS!!
That’s when my businesses really became conscious businesses.
I sought to learn more about business and entrepreneurship. I had studied Media
and Communications in my degree, so there were already many aspects of
marketing and public relations that I felt very confident in. And my extensive
experience in several marketing and communications roles throughout my years
has helped build my skills in building a successful business.
With the emergence of digital media and the constantly evolving landscape of
social media and e-commerce, I have continued to study further in business,
personal development – and of course, spirituality.
I am a strong believer in soulful business.
It appears on the surface that business and spirituality have absolutely nothing to do
with each other. Traditional ideas of business have always been associated with
power and money.
Now, we live in a day and age where people are looking for more from their work.
It’s no longer enough to just make a shit ton of money.
Now we want time and location freedom, we want to spend more time doing what
we love, we want to be able to live in a place that inspires us and we want to feel
inspired and happy doing what we do!
I feel very fortunate to be an entrepreneur today. We’re the most mindful and
conscious we’ve ever been. We are looking to incorporate our spiritual selves in our
businesses.
Business no longer has to mean that we’re just out for ourselves and the dollar.
Business now means that it serves the greater good, the world and it serves me/you
as the business owner - It serves our inner purpose as well.

So, what is it about you that you want to share with the world?
What are your unique talents and gifts that can serve others?

As you might have noticed, you’re not the only nutritionist, health coach, counsellor,
kinesiologist, yoga teacher, life coach etc around.
More and more, people are turning to natural therapies and alternative healing
modalities over mainstream medicine. And it’s caused an influx in practitioners in
these fields.
And seeing as we’re all looking for more meaning in life, the coaching industry has
grown exponentially in the last decade.
So what can you offer that is different to everyone else?
YOUR STORY!
You have lived through some stuff, experienced some stuff. You’ve gained a whole
bunch of life experience along the way and your story makes you unique.
This ultimately will create your brand!

For example;
Oprah is known for her media personality; with an empathetic ear and personable
approach.
Marie Forleo is known as a business coach; with a flair for hip-hop and NY savvy.
Gabrielle Bernstein is known as a new thought leader; with a spiritual edge for the
modern woman.
Sarah Wilson is known as a health coach; specializing in sugar-free living.
You see, each has their own area of specialization that they bring to their work. And
this has come from their own experiences in life.
Oprah has been very open about being abused as a child and has always
expressed her own interest in self-development and spirituality, which is notable in all
her work across various media platforms.
Marie Forleo, a born and bred Jersey girl doesn’t hide her outgoing and extroverted
personality.
Gabby Bernstein, whilst speaking about spirituality isn’t afraid to curse or ask the
Universe what she should wear, for a speaking engagement.
And Sarah Wilson has gone through her own struggles with an autoimmune disorder,
which led her to quit sugar and help thousands of others do the same.
So as you can see, each of these women has used their own experiences to help
others. Your personality is what makes you offer something completely unique that
no one else can.

1. KNOW YOUR BUSINESS
Understanding your business model and what you’re actually offering will serve
as the perfect foundation to get your business going. You need to feel 100%
comfortable and confident in the services or goods that you’re offering.
NEWSFLASH: If you don’t believe in your services, neither will your clients. So GET
CLEAR and GET BEHIND YOUR BUSINESS
2. UNDERSTAND YOUR CUSTOMER
As with anything, you need to know WHO you are trying to help. Is your ideal
customer a mum with small kids, who works part-time and is the household
decision maker? Or are you serving women in their 30’s who are interested in
health and fitness?
Defining your key customer is essential to target your business to a specific
audience.
3. GET A WEBSITE
If you’re not online with your business, you should be! NOW! Your website is your
number 1 marketing tool. Even if you have a physical business…what’s the first
thing anyone does when they’re looking for something or a service?
They GOOGLE it!
