We would like to express our appreciation for the generosity in
support of Rachel’s Ray of Hope. Each contribution allowed us to
provide the necessities to individuals in our community enduring
difficult circumstances. We are dedicated to making a positive
difference in the lives of many and because of the kind
donations, we are on our way to doing just that.
In the Community
Since providing assistance for the first time to a local family back in
June, Rachel’s Ray of Hope has been proceeding in the efforts of
helping hope shine brightest through the darkest moments. We
have provided needed school supplies to local schools for
disadvantaged students, supplied clothing to children in the foster
care program and when tragedy has struck local families we’ve
helped take care of the initial needs, both financially and
spiritually, of family members caring for their loved ones. Most
recently, we were able to spread hope and joy to over 100
children who were experiencing hardship during the holiday
season.
Fundraising Efforts
In September, we held our first fundraiser with family and friends
coming together and organizing a very successful car wash,
generating over $1,300 in donations. We also had the great
fortune to team up with the Fayette County Youth Soccer League,
not only receiving funds through concession stand sales, but also
gaining the opportunity to share Rachel’s story on the same soccer
fields she’d spent nearly a decade playing.
Mathew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they
may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.
What’s New
Rachel’s Ray of Hope is happy
to announce the start of a new
program, “Support Our
Society” through our S.O.S.
bags. The first of our bags will
be tailored and given to
children who are removed
from unsafe homes and
situations. We hope to bring
comfort and aid during their
frightening transition by
working closely with local foster
care agencies, shelters and
children services centers.
*Sample S.O.S. bags. All bags will be
age/gender appropriate.
Each bag will consist of school supplies,
a reading book, basic toiletries, a
writing journal and security blanket.
Other items will be added by
availability.
